San Diego Comic-Con attendees were transported to The Good Place via an unforgettable fan activation complete with eccentric neighbors, moral dilemmas and a surprise twist!

This July, NBC made a splash at San Diego Comic-Con with a super-sized activation inspired by The Good Place which transported lucky attendees to a fictional neighborhood created specifically for Comic-Con!

Our journey begins after an accident occurs at Comic-Con leaving us all dead as the result of a stampede caused in part by Tatiana Maslany, Pokemon GO! and Starbucks. After informing us of our unfortunate demise, Michael and Janet proceed to welcome us before telling us all about the neighborhood which has been created particularly for the people of Comic-Con.

More from Hidden Remote

It’s a neighborhood where Jar Jar Binks never existed, all of our favorite shows received a final season to wrap everything up and Lady Stoneheart was actually in Game of Thrones. In other words, we’ve died and gone to The Good Place!

After an unexpected appearance from The Bad Place’s Janet – who sizes up us “turd munchers,” while nearly ruining the ending of Game of Thrones – the doors to paradise finally open allowing us to step into The Good Place and officially meet our neighbors…

Time to Meet Your Neighbors

As the doors to paradise, we’re immediately transported into a magical world full of eccentric characters and unforgettable venues.

Welcoming us with open arms, the neighborhood’s inhabitants are quick to get the conversations started. After learning a bit about our time on Earth and a few miscommunications regarding the identity of our soul mates, we finally break off to explore the neighborhood and all its wonders.

First on our to-do list is a quick lesson in ethics. On the docket for the day is the infamous train problem which tasks us with the difficult challenge of determining whether to save one Stan Lee or five Guardians of the Galaxy.

After either ridding the world of a living legend or five of the most beloved superhero characters, it’s off to enjoy a ride on a shrimp carousel because what’s The Good Place without some shrimp related fun!

Then of course because calories don’t exist in The Good Place, one has to drop by the Cup Cakes stand before visiting the likes of The Suggestion of Yogurt, Everything Fits and, of course, Yogurt Yoghurt Yogurté!

Breaking Free

Just when everything seems to be going off without a hinge, things take a turn for the worst as strange occurrences begin to unfold. It all begins to escalate when a member of the neighborhood is revealed to be a fraud resulting in their immediate banishing to The Bad Place; however, that’s just the beginning!

Soon Ariana Grande’s “Break Free” begins blaring in the neighborhood, the inhabitants of the neighborhood start running around unhinged by what’s going down and, to top it all off, a giant ladybug appears from the sky looming over the neighborhood. Upon the insistence of the neighborhood’s residents, we’re whisked though the portals located at Infinite Light and back to the real world.

Fortunately, in the chaos of things, our memories are left in tact allowing us to fondly reflect upon our all too brief time in The Good Place. From there, the fun continues with a trip to The Good Plates to enjoy some delicious grub while surrounded by The Good Place inspired decor!
