About the Role: I know many will wonder just who Benedict Cumberbatch played in The Other Boleyn Girl. He was William Carey, the husband of Mary Boleyn (i.e. the other Boleyn girl). The movie wasn’t focused on him, so he’s not in that many scenes, but it’s still an important movie to include on the list. William wasn’t the grand prince that Mary would possibly have liked to marry, but he was the one to make her happy and that’s what counted.

Simply the Best: The Other Boleyn Girl is a very loose storytelling of real history, but it’s still a good movie. It’s packed with a high profile cast and tells a tale of love and loss. As for Cumberbatch’s role, he plays a sweet man who just wants to make sure his wife is happy.

To be honest, this is just a great movie if you’re interest in the Tudor period, love Eric Bana, Scarlett Johansson, and Natalie Dormer, and just really want something to sit back and not think too much about.
