Genie Francis returns to GH-Will Laura be tied into the return of Kevin’s evil twin?
Word is that Genie Francis is returning to General Hospital very soon.
It was a shock when GH actress, Genie Francis, was put on recurring last year. She was right in the middle of a story line on the ABC soap. Laura Spencer Collins was running for mayor of Port Charles, but then she abruptly dropped out and booked out of town to tend to her injured grandson Spencer. However, it looks like she will be back sometime this fall, and General Hospital fans couldn’t be happier about it.

The scoop
According to a report by TV Insider, Francis will begin filming this fall, which means that she will be back on air a few weeks after that. ABC exec Nathan Varni mentioned a few months ago that they may be working on some type of story to bring Laura back to Port Charles. It sounds like they have finally worked it all out.
Francis says that she is excited to be going back as she quips, “I’m looking forward to coming home and I am really excited about this new invigorating storyline they have for Laura — I look forward to the next chapter of this prolific and historic character.”
GH fans were angry when the actress was cut down to recurring. There have been many pleas to do something about it. Her character had just married Dr. Kevin Collins. They hadn’t even had the chance to enjoy their first few months of wedded bliss yet.

However, Kevin has been quite busy tending to both Franco Baldwin and Carly Corinthos while his wife has been away. The current story line with Carly being at Ferncliff has been front and center. Bringing Genie back in the next few weeks may just be an exciting story that will unfold from this one involving Carly’s stay at Ferncliff.

This could just be the story that Varni was talking about for Genie Francis. There have been speculations recently that Kevin may not be quite himself, or there could be another Kevin lookalike in Port Charles.
Kevin’s evil twin, Ryan Chamberlain, is supposed to be dead. But you know how that goes. Dead doesn’t necessarily mean dead in soaps. Rumors are flying that the person that Carly communed with through the walls at Ferncliff is either Ryan or Kevin himself.
This would certainly be a juicy story for Laura Spencer to come back to. If Kevin really is Ryan, then when did the switch happen? Which one is Laura married to?
Of course, these are all speculations, but it does seem like this current Ferncliff story line could very well be a set up for Genie Francis’ return. Are you happy that she is returning to General Hospital?
