Knightfall Season 2: We expected the renewal but not the rest of the exciting news!

Knightfall Season 2 has been confirmed as expected but the rest of the news was a wholly unexpected surprise.

HISTORY has finally come out and announced that Knightfall Season 2 is happening. It was expected for some time that it would be as it had become pretty obvious that it was going to happen.

Cryptic clues and messages sent by the cast and crew had all but sent up a massive sign shouting, “Knightfall Season 2 is happening but we can’t officially tell you yet!” But no matter, HISTORY has come out and made the official renewal announcement but that really isn’t what I want to talk about.

It was what followed after the renewal that made me sit up and gasp out loud in excitement. Along with the renewal news was the announcement of the new characters, and who would play them, in season 2.

Drum rolls please, here are the new additions coming to Knightfall. (Pretend you can hear drum rolls playing…)

Knightfall Season 2 new additions

• Tom Forbes
• Genevieve Gaunt
• Mark Hamill

Yup, that last one is correct. That is not a mistake.

We have, Tom Forbes, best known for appearing in Free Reign and The Bastard Executioner. Forbes is to portray the role of Prince Louis, the unpredictable and violent son of King Phillip. Now if you remember how bonkers King Phillip went in season 1, if Louis is to be anything like his father, maybe even worse, his role will be one to look out for some season 2.

Genevieve Gaunt is to play the daughter of King Phillip, Isabella. All we know about her is she has been dubbed “the she-wolf of France,” which doesn’t paint a picture of a sweet princess who just wants to knit and read books. She sounds more like Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones. What is not clear is if this is the same Princess Isabella from season 1 with a new actress or a completely new character who has the same name.

The most exciting part is Mark Hamill. The Star Wars legend is coming to play a battle-hardened Knight Templar named Talus who is a veteran of the crusades and survived 10 years of captivity.

Knightfall has also got a new showrunner for season 2. Aaron Helbing, known for his work in The Flash and Spartacus: War of the Damned is coming in as showrunner and executive producer.

With all the exciting new additions and changes being made, Knightfall Season 2 is one to look out for. The question to ask now is when will it be released? Will it be 2018 or 2019?
