10. Ruby

There are many demons who have come and gone over the years, but Ruby is one that stands out the most. Whether you loved Katie Cassidy in the role or preferred Genevieve Padalecki taking over, Ruby was one of those characters who left you guessing for a long time. One minute you were sure she was on the Winchesters’ side and then the next she just had to be evil.

Her introduction certainly stands out. At first, you had no idea if she was friend or foe. Brought in during Supernatural Season 3, Episode 1, she watched the Winchesters for a long time, following them as they discovered the Seven Deadly Sins.

We saw her step in during the fight, very quickly taking out demons with a knife that killed them. This was the first time we’d seen something like this and realized killing demons was even possible. Just that alone helped Ruby’s introduction far more interesting than other characters.

9. Ellen, Jo, and Ash

Okay, I am definitely cheating. I couldn’t choose between the characters and I didn’t want to separate them. So technically, this list is actually 13 best Supernatural introductions!

Ellen and Jo Harvelle were introduced at the same time and in similar ways. Both held guns at Sam and Dean Winchester after the two had broken into the Roadhouse looking for them. It was the mention of “Sam” and “Dean” that made Ellen realize who she had a gun pointed at. What we actually got was a show of how these two women didn’t need a man around.

As for Ash, well, who didn’t love the stereotypical 80s rocker on the pool table? What was even better was finding out that he really was a genius. When it comes to looking at the best characters ever to be on Supernatural, you can certainly expect Ash to be high on the list!
