LeBron James, along with his business partner and lifelong friend Maverick Carter, has produced and starred in a new show for HBO called The Shop. What can we expect from this barbershop documentary-style production?

LeBron James is now an executive producer, and a hard worker at that. Ever since his decision to join the Los Angeles Lakers this off-season, many thought with better options available out there, what went into his decision to join L.A. so enticing?

Well, now we have the answer. He is looking at life after the NBA and The Shop by HBO is the first step. With 18 executive producer credits under his name, The Shop is the first, of many rumored, for the Emmy winning network, HBO.

Check out the trailer to the upcoming series, below:

Setting up his post-NBA life, his first venture, The Shop dives into a one-of-a-kind conversational experience. Mainly centered around LeBron James, the Shop talks about the King’s presence on the court as well as his impact off the court.

They also discuss the type of role model each individual wants to become for their children and the future. How, regardless of the sport or entertainment industry they are in, each one has a voice and how their platform can be used to express said voice. To stand up for social and political issues in our nation. All detailed in a fun, relaxed easy viewing.

More from HBO

With guests ranging from New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the Daily Show host Jon Stewart, the list seems to be open-ended and not just targeted to athletes.

Rappers Snoop Dogg and Vince Staples, comedian Jerrod Carmichael, Los Angeles Sparks Candace Parker, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, and three-time NBA champion Golden State Warriors Draymond Green were the debut guests for the HBO sports show.

The barbershop experience is a feel good one according to LeBron James and we can expect more vigorous conversations from distinguished and respected individuals in the sports and/or entertainment industry. Topics open-ended from sports to political issues in today’s society.

This is what LeBron James had to say about collaborating with HBO.

"“Anyone who has been in a real barbershop, like the ones where I grew up, knows why this show can be so incredible. I’m really excited HBO believed in our idea and is helping us create something special”"
