About the role: When a wealthy sheik wants to bring fly-fishing to the area, Emily Blunt’s Harriet Chetwode-Talbot is the one who attempts to make it happen. She turns to Ewan McGregor’s Dr. Alfred Jones to see the dream become a reality.
Of course, at first it sounds like a ridiculous idea. However, Harriet remains positive for her client. She’s willing to think outside the box and dream big and helps Alfred do the same.
Simply the best: For a start, this movie landed Blunt a Golden Globe nomination. However, there’s more to that to put this movie on the list. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is a story of character building, of being willing to take risks. The sheik knows that his idea is ludicrous and crazy, but he’s willing to try and he encourages others to do so.
Emily Blunt’s character isn’t immediately like him (she’s a businesswoman after all) but does see the beauty in the risks. She encourages us all to take more when necessary.
