FX orders new comedy Breeders, starring Fargo’s alum, Martin Freeman

FX has ordered a new comedy series, Breeders, straight-to-series with 10 episodes along with Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard co-starring.

Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard fans, you’re in luck! The Hollywood Reporter reports FX has ordered a new comedy, Breeders, straight-to-series which will consist of 10 episodes. It will co-star Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard as parents. This also marks Freeman’s return to FX since being in Fargo.

Here is a synopsis from FX about the new comedy series, Breeders:  The comedy exposes the parental paradox that it is possible, in the very same moment, to love your child to the horizon of the universe, while being apoplectically angry enough to want to send them there. Freeman stars as a caring father discovering he’s not quite the man he thought he was.

Simon Blackwell will be the showrunner.  Chris Addison, Freeman and Blackwell have created Breeders together. FX and the UK network, Sky are co-producing this comedy series, and it will premiere in 2020.

Wow, this sure captured my attention. You think you’re a caring father only to find out that you may not be one? Gees, I am curious to know what will be in store for his child. Let’s hope that Daisy’s character will be there for her child and knock some sense into Freeman’s character. Let’s see what we discover though, from Martin’s character, that should be, interesting.

I wonder what Haggar’s character description will be.

• How old will the child be?
• Is it a boy or girl?
• How long were they married for?
• How are Freeman’s and Haggar’s families?
• What are the character names?
• What are the parent’s jobs?

The show can introduce many storylines just by the synopsis of the series, such as if the parents want to have more kids. That can lead to emotional storylines if Freeman’s character hurts his wife unintentionally if she wants more kids.

Breeders just got ordered, so we’ll find more information about the new series as the months go by. But so far, so good.
