Dynasty power rankings: Will Blake and Fallon’s fading fortunes turn around?
By Reed Gaudens
While Dynasty raises the stakes for Blake and Jeff, Fallon gets into trouble with Liam’s uncle and a revengeful Kirby. Which foe could cost her the deal?
Fallon Carrington, accomplice to murder? That’s definitely a title that’s on the table after the latest episode of Dynasty. It’s another Tuesday for Fallon as she prepares for battle with her litany of enemies. This week, Kirby comes at her throat with a calculated ploy to ruin her life, and the impending sale of Carrington Atlantic hits a snag when Liam’s Uncle Max makes an inappropriate pass that could stall negotiations for good.
Elsewhere, Sammy Jo falls into an unexpected alliance with Alexis when worries about the validity of Melissa’s pregnancy arise, and Cristal Jennings settles on a strategy that sends her straight into the manor. But it’s Blake’s immature face off with Jeff that’ll leaving the world wondering if he’ll even have enough money left to be buried with. Who’s leading the pack? Here’s how the power struggle stacked up in the latest episode of season 2. (Warning: Spoilers ahead.)
1. Fallon
It’s true that Fallon took a few hits in “Ship of Vipers.” She faced offed with Liam’s Aunt Mora and Uncle Max. She fought with Kirby and Monica. And she witnessed her parents’ walk of shame via FaceTime. You’d say it’s hard to bounce back from that. Not on Dynasty. Fallon managed to remain in control of her various spinning plates, even when they came crashing down.

To appease Uncle Max’s delay of the Carrington Atlantic sale, Fallon plays along with his callous sexual advances. Handing the key to his place back to him? A power move. Blinding and handcuffing him? A power move. Hiring an escort to stand in and secure the deal? A power move. Accidentally giving him a heartache? Well, that’s dicey. But Fallon did have Kirby arrested for assault, so our girl still takes the top spot.
2. Kirby
Trailing closely behind Fallon, Kirby proves herself to be quite the formidable adversary for the Carringtons and Colbys. Although she might be in bed (literally) with Jeff, it seems Monica isn’t quite as keen to welcome her with open arms. Kirby offers her help to Monica for the opening of Club Colby, but when Monica declines, she takes matters into her own hands. Thanks to a few rogue rats and a call to the health inspector, Kirby has Monica’s competition shut down. However, she causes quite a stir at the opening by provoking Fallon, earning karma’s swift intervention.
3. Alexis
You have to hand it to Alexis: She always pulls it out. When pushed into the tightest corner, she’ll find a speck of dust and sell it to her opponent above market value. While she’s not quite as lucky with her latest foray into private investigation, she keeps Hank at bay with an expensive painting as collateral. He wants his money now, but she hasn’t had the time to fully squirm her way back into Blake’s good graces. And she’ll need an incredible apology for Melissa and Steven after breaking into Melissa’s house (with a key!), finding fake baby bumps, and wrongfully accusing her of defrauding Steven. Oops?
4. Cristal
It’s taking Cristal Jennings a hot minute to find her place at the Carrington manor, but all great things take time. Even though the statute of limitations is up on the fake Cristals demanding a payout, Cristal 2.0 shows up at the manor posing as Blake’s nurse after Anders had earlier rushed her off the phone. Blake’s immediately taken with Cristal Jennings, which could mean any number of things. But Cristal spins a potentially faux tale of having been friends with Cristal OG. She even has a locket to prove it. (We love visual aids!) How much longer until her power is fully realized?
5. Blake
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Blake declared his commitment to “Blake time,” a selfish new endeavor in which he spends all of his money, takes his children out of his will, and buries whatever cash he’s got left in the ground with him. He’s truly lost his marbles, and it’s rather fun to watch, let’s all admit that much. But his racing competition with Jeff Colby was not the strongest display of the usual Blake Carrington power. The millionaires race toy cars in exchange for actual cars, a bet Blake loses. Maybe he should hang on to some of that money…
Honorable Mentions:
- Monica will soon crack the top five if she continues to rule Club Colby with an iron fist, throw Fallon’s money back in her face, and drop iconic lines like, “I don’t need an empire. I just need to throw a good party.” A whole mood.
- Steven. Oh, sweet Steven. He’s always in the midst of the drama, but he can’t ever seem to be one step ahead of the schemes in play. Maybe that skill skips a child in birth order.
- On a related note, Melissa continues to cling to whatever power she can hold over the Carringtons. Alexis and Sammy Jo came up short this time, but there’s no way Melissa is actually pregnant with Steven’s child. Right?
- Mora Van Kirk, we see you! Another Josh Schwartz and co. veteran joins the cast: Shannon Lucio, The O.C.’s divisive season 2 newbie Lindsay, plays Liam’s steadfast aunt. She’s sure to stick around following Max’s death and cause Fallon a world of hurt.
