It’s Thanksgiving at Carrington manor, and Dynasty throws one heck of a melodramatic bash with a Wizard of Oz dream, a baby, and a shocking proposal.

If there’s one thing Dynasty sure knows how to do, it’s celebrate Thanksgiving. Last year, the Carringtons feared for their lives as Claudia crashed their family dinner with a loaded gun and unleashed rage on the turkey. And to think that holiday episode made our list of the greatest Thanksgiving shows of all time when the series one-upped itself with a wild second helping.

In this year’s celebration at Carrington manor, Fallon weighs her options between Culhane and Liam, but her Wizard of Oz-based fear of inclement weather comes back to bite in the form of a vivid fever dream. Meanwhile, Alexis attempts to repay her debts and keep Blake alive, but she can’t keep him from acting on his feelings for Cristal… again. Here’s how the power struggle stacked up in the latest episode of Dynasty Season 2. (Warning: Spoilers ahead)

More from CW

1. Blake

This week, Blake is both powerful and powerless. After trying to whisk Cristal away for a romantic  Thanksgiving for two, the tornado has other plans and leaves them grounded at Carrington manor. But Blake’s being smarter with this relationship, taking cues from his previous marriage. He wants to get to know this Cristal before rushing into a commitment. So he says. When Cristal finds out Blake bought out the clinic she worked at, he drops to one knee and proposes. That’s one way to avoid conflict and go back on your word. Nonetheless, there’s power in a proposal.

2. Alexis

Oh, how the mighty have risen. We cheer Alexis on around here, because why not? She’s fun to watch and always caught in an absolute dumpster fire of her own design. But this week? She tries mothering on for size and walks away with debts paid. Fallon’s fear of storms kicks in, as does Alexis’ maternal instincts. See? They were in there somewhere. Ultimately, Fallon finds it in her heart to cut her mother a check, which she promptly hands over to Hank. As a peace-offering, Hank leaves Claudia’s baby on her doorstep. At least Claudia didn’t crash Thanksgiving this year?

3. Sammy Jo

If for no other reason than feeling bad that his husband is not coming back from Paraguay and the fact that he made for one very hot Cowardly Lion, Sammy Jo makes the power rankings this week. While he was particularly adorable in his Wizard of Oz outfit, Sam also managed to pull the Anders family heist of a lifetime. It took him a minute to see the forest for the trees, but Sam realized Kirby wasn’t the best option for a surrogate. As pseudo severance deal, Sam instigated a fight between Kirby and Anders that magically forged an apology. Puppet master much?

4. Cristal

Look, she seems sweet and honest, but I’m still convinced that something’s up with Cristal. The first season of Dynasty would have given me trust issues if they weren’t already present, which leads me to doubt her motivations at every turn. She arrived at the manor and five odd episodes later locks down a proposal? As much as I’d like to believe her intentions are pure and she actually acted as a confidante to Celia, she also seems much too smart. Now, this doesn’t mean she’s sinister and trying to take the Carringtons for a ride. But we clearly don’t know anything about her.

5. Fallon

It’s with a heavy heart and a downtrodden soul that I rank Fallon dead last. Where has her power gone? She’s all but rejected it and thrown it out like last night’s leftovers, as if Fallon Carrington would even humor the idea of “leftovers.” After getting knocked in the head by a rogue cow figurine, Fallon falls into a fever dream where she steps into the shoes of Dorothy and wades through the mess of her personal life. In the end, she receives Culhane’s mother’s approval, but Culhane overhears her tearful goodbye call to Liam. She made her choice but could lose both.

Next. Dynasty shocker: James Mackay officially out as a series regular. dark

Honorable Mentions:

  • Claudia appears to have been momentarily outwitted. But she’s going to go full mama bear to get her baby back, and when she does, it won’t be pretty. It’ll be petty — and possibly deadly.
  • At first the Wizard of Oz dream seemed misplaced on a show like Dynasty, but the series has branched out with a new tone this season, which mostly works.
  • However, and this is a big however, Season 2’s lighter spirit has forsaken its rapid-fire pacing. More drama, more twists, more Fallon giving zero you-know-whats, please!
