The Last Alaskans will give us a look at necessary steps for survival before the Alaskan winter takes hold. In this exclusive sneak peek, Charlie finds out just how much damage the summer wildfires have caused.

Wildfires are some of the most dangerous and disastrous elements Mother Nature has to offer. Just one spark can take out hundreds of acres of forest area and that has devastating consequences in the future. The Last Alaskans premieres on Sunday and this exclusive sneak peek shows the type of damage caused.

Charlie decides to look for his traplines from the air after the summer’s fires. He hopes that there will be spotted parts that have been damaged, but quickly realizes that’s not the case. It’s all black with spotty sections of green.

What does this mean for the young hunter? Can he spot his traplines? I’ll let you see the sneak peek for yourself. During the clip, he explains just what it means for his survival before the harsh Alaskan winter sets in.

For Heimo, it’s a chance to stalk out the best hunting grounds in the area, as Tyler tracks his prey: the caribou.

All three of our Alaskans will need to get their kills and prepare for the harsh climate ahead of them. It’s certainly not going to be easy and we’re in for a wild ride with them throughout the season.
