Charmed recap: Parker’s true nature revealed
Charmed Season 1, Episode 7 delivers a slight twist on an original series storyline. Meanwhile, a shadow demon attacks, as a portal to Hell is discovered.
The episode starts at a wine store, when a Shadow Demon attacks the owner and steals something from inside him. It doesn’t take long for the man to show up at the Charmed One’s house looking for help. That’s when the real story for Charmed Season 1, Episode 7 gets started.
Meanwhile, there’s plenty of character development for the sisters. We see them bond more as sisters while making some adult decisions moving forward.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Charmed without a demonic twist. Just what is Parker’s true nature? If you were a fan of Classic Charmed, this will be a storyline you likely expected and waited for.

The man from the wine store turns out to be a magical creature. That isn’t that surprising considering he had a glowing shard removed from him. He’s a saytr and one of the holders of three parts of a scythe that is a key to open a hellish prison for magical creatures.
There’s a long backstory connected to Greek mythology for the prison, but what’s extremely important to know is that if the three pieces of the scythe are put together, Hell on Earth could happen.
And yes, all three pieces are found throughout the episode. A Shadow Demon, who is working for Alastair, finds two and the Charmed Ones are able to find the third.

Where is the third? Well, it’s in their attic, of course. Their mother seems to have everything!
When the sisters find the shard, the key that Macy had found in the previous episode is magnetically drawn to the shard and fits inside the lock. It’s no surprise to learn that the Shadow Demon started looking for the shards when Macy unveiled that key.
The three sisters and Harry try to develop a plan to protect the shards and allow the Shadow Demon in. Of course, things don’t quite go to plan but one thing does come out of it: Maggie feels the emotions of the demon and learns her powers are growing.
The sisters bond and figure out their wants
Before getting into the big finish, it’s important to touch on the character development. Macy worries that she’s about to be fired as a new manager takes over the lab. Instead, the new manager, Julia Wagner, promotes Macy to lab supervisor.
The downside to the promotion is Macy needs to fire someone due to budget cuts. That someone is Galvin, which Macy can’t do. Not only is Galvin a friend but he’s also worth the money. Macy offers to find another way to save the money, which Julia accepts. Now let’s hope Macy can.
Meanwhile, Maggie and Parker are able to start a relationship. Lucy has officially given them her blessing, so I’ll accept this storyline. For now, anyway!
While they’re on a date, Maggie learns that Parker is keeping a secret from her. When visiting him at the frat house, she sees him injecting himself with something and instantly jumps to the conclusion of drugs. Is it really drugs?
Parker later explains that he has an autoimmune disorder but won’t bore her with the details. When they kiss, Maggie hears his thoughts and he’s happy he told her the truth, but is it really the truth?
In the end, we learn Parker isn’t who he claims to be. He’s half demon and his dad is nonother than Alastair. Oh, and he knows Maggie is an empath, so likely played her powers to make her believe he was just struggling with some sort of autoimmune disorder. It looks like we have our Phoebe/Cole relationship of the Charmed reboot, which really isn’t that surprising.
What about Mel? She’s struggling with finding a balance between her normal life and her magical life. She’s too focused on everything magical that she’s forgotten all about her thesis and Harry can’t give her another extension.
This and the attack at the house help her realize something: she has been following her mother’s footsteps. It’s time for her to step out on her own and that means dropping out of college, just as Maggie signs up for next semester and opts to become a psychology major.
Why Alastair wants the scythe
Alastair doesn’t seem to want to open the hellish prison just yet. His main aim for the scythe is to open the can that contains the Harbinger goo. Charity’s spell is too strong for him.
However, it turns out he can’t get hold of the scythe. An electricity demon attacks at the same time as the Shadow Demon in the Vera-Vaughn house and steals the scythe, leaving a mark on Mel that’s similar to the mark on Marisol. Could this be the demon that attacked and killed Marisol?
Whether it is or isn’t, the sisters do realize one thing throughout the episode. They need to tell each other the full truths. No more secrets.
