With the announcement that the CW has officially ordered the Batwoman pilot, would her presence in the Arrowverse finally bring in Batman?

When Supergirl premiered in 2015, everyone if Superman would ever make an appearance. In the show’s third season, he finally did. Now with Batwoman officially having a pilot ordered from The CW, the same question has been raised: will we see Batman finally make an appearance in the Arrowverse?

Since Arrow premiered in 2012, Oliver Queen quickly became a Bruce Wayne type character. A rich playboy with a “cave” of fancy technology putting on a mask to save the city from criminals. Since it seemed Gotham and The Dark Knight would never be able to grace the small screen, the Arrowverse used Queen as a little bit of a replacement.

In the spring of 2018 when it was announced that Ruby Rose had been cast to play Batwoman in the upcoming crossover event, people started getting more optimistic about Batman coming to the scene.

During the crossover, we finally arrived in Gotham and enter Wayne Enterprises, where we learn Bruce Wayne has left the city. Kate Kane is Bruce’s cousin, and she has taken over running Wayne Enterprises in his absence, among other things.

If the show were to move past the pilot stage and be ordered to series, it is very plausible that we will see Batman begin to enter the Arrowverse, if the show runs long enough. At the very least, we’ll get a lot of Batman references, with Kate presumably having to confer with Bruce about the running of his enterprise.

.And if we’re really lucky, just like in Supergirl, there could be a problem that Batwoman runs into that she can’t solve for herself, and her cousin will have to come in and give her an assist.  Even if it’s just for one episode. Or even for a future Arrowverse crossover.

Either way, having a Batwoman series as part of the Arrowverse is at least one step closer to finally getting The Dark Knight into the successful television universe. If DC lets them borrow him that is, but that’s a different story.
