Last week, The Goldbergs delivered one of their most surprising episodes to date with “The Pina Colada Episode.” The show saw Murray attempting to cheer his family up by developing a master plan involving a CD Player for their car, a trip to Arby’s, and tickets to a 76ers game. Problem is they get stuck in traffic with a broken car stereo that keeps playing Rupert Holmes classic Pina Colada song “Escape.”

After everyone has a meltdown from the song on constant repeat, Murray finally snaps and tells everyone he is taking Lainey leaving harder than anyone. He is also mad that because he is the father he is supposed to pretend to be the strong one. Weirdly this makes the family quit moping and they focus their efforts on cheering Murray up instead.

The episode also had coach Mellor leave his job to work for the Foxcatcher This forced him to have his brother take the job which was a decision all the students hated, including Adam.

This week Beverly will go full protective mother mode by fighting to get another stop sign on her street. One can assume this is probably because one of her kids almost gets hurt or run over. The episode will also see Barry trying to make up for lost time with his college applications.
