Dynasty power rankings: How far will Fallon fall to win Liam back?
By Reed Gaudens
When the Dynasty girls jet off on a weekend getaway, trouble follows Fallon as she attempts to win Liam back. Does she get what she wants or a rude awakening?
There ain’t no vacation like a Fallon Carrington vacation because a Fallon Carrington vacation doesn’t have pure motives or go as planned. Dynasty takes the girls on a ski trip in Idaho, but Fallon has plans that don’t involve skiing.
She ropes the crew into helping her confess her love to Liam, but their efforts don’t go nearly as well as Culhane’s unlikely partnership with Blake in recruiting a star soccer player. Culhane might be rising through the ranks, but how far has Fallon fallen?

Here’s how the power struggle stacked up in the latest episode of Dynasty Season 2. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)
1. Cristal
Believe it or not, Cristal holds the most collective power over the entire manor right now. Look at it this way: How much do they really know about her? And now she’s pregnant with the next heir to the Carrington fortune — allegedly.
Cristal confides in Fallon that the baby might not be Blake’s. As she tells it, before she returned to the manor, she slept with her ex-husband, Mark Jennings.
Although it activates her family loyalty fight or flight, Fallon offers Cristal the sound advice to tell Blake the truth and do what’s right for her and her child. There’s no concrete evidence, but something about this conversation felt like manipulation. Cristal had to have been working Fallon, right?
Oh, and Cristal chickens out on fessing up to Blake. Yikes!

2. Monica
Finally, Dynasty gives Monica something juicer to do other than bickering with Fallon or playing second fiddle to Jeff. Let’s hope that with her delicious display of manipulation, we’re going to continue to see a devious but also vulnerable side of Monica.
When Jeff continues to express excitement about reconnecting with their mother, Dominique, she makes a call that ends the family reunion in its tracks. She berates Dominique in a short but sweet voicemail and threats to expose “what she did” to Monica. Long story short, Dominique never boarded Jeff’s plane. That’s power.
3. Kirby
For once, Kirby wields her power for good… and it’s rather boring? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but as heartwarming and satisfying as it was to watch Kirby throwdown her saltiest tricks in the name of female friendship, it wasn’t especially what we’d call soap operatic.
That’s not to say Kirby and Fallon need to be at each other’s throats because that, too, grows exhausting. But erasing all of Kirby’s rough edges might prove limiting to the narrative. You know, unless she uses this personal rebranding to her advantage later on. At the end of the day, watching Kirby ruin Ashley’s eyebrows (she deserved it) was a true thrill. She saved a day that was still destined for disaster.
4. Culhane
Picking up from the break-in at his mother and sister’s home, Culhane has been hiding from the manor and alienating himself in a comfortable stasis. When his mother and sister overhear Blake’s offer to give Culhane a position on the business side of his new soccer team, they practically pack his bags and push him onto that plane to Belgium.
Blake’s pitch to Sterling, a hot soccer star he’s trying to recruit, falls short of effective, leading Culhane to swoop in and secure the deal with an emotional appeal to home with boiled peanuts from Atlanta. With a leg up on Blake, Culhane shows some real grit for the first time thanks to a major ultimatum. Nobody puts Blake Carrington into a corner, Culhane sure did.
5. Fallon
Fallon should just be thankful that she has any girlfriends who were willing to humor her desperate whims to win Liam back. Because it’s safe to say that nothing she did worked. As if it wasn’t bad enough that Liam turned her down, his new girlfriend Ashley read her to filth. In her blind emotional recklessness, Fallon’s confidence takes a battering. She’s not used to losing.
And the hits just kept on coming when the gang slums it at a local dive bar to soak their sorrows in cheap beer. That’s right: Fallon Carrington drank BEER. They all could have died in the plane ride home and that still would have been the most scandalous event in the episode.
After their coats and bags are stolen, the gang enters a karaoke contest, which leads to a bar brawl with Ashley and another brutal denial from Liam. “What happened to the girl who was ready to start her own dynasty?” Again, read to absolute filth.
Honorable Mentions:
- I’d be remiss not to mention that Elizabeth Gillies was on top of her game in “The Sight of You.” So many impeccable line readings, so many nuanced reactions. Can we start a grassroots campaign to get Liz nominated for something?!
- Alexis stays home (because she wasn’t invited) and pouts. She thinks she suffers from seasonal affective disorder, but she realizes that she’s just plain sad from being unwanted and unwelcome at the manor. But she’ll soon bounce back with her favorite hobby: Tearing down Cristal.
- No mentions of Steven’s location. What are we thinking?
