Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o and Jordan Peele sat down for a Q&A after premiering their film Us opening night at SXSW 2019.

This year’s SXSW at Austin is in full-swing, but it might as well be over now that Jordan Peele’s film, Us, has had its world premiere. For our spoiler-free thoughts on the movie, click here, otherwise, read on for four things we learned at a Q&A with the cast, hosted by BuzzFeed!

After the screening and applauds all around from audiences, the cast stepped into the theater to share their thoughts and thank everyone. The following morning, we’re all still thinking about everything that unfolded and all the pieces of the puzzle that we missed. Luckily, BuzzFeed hosted a Q&A so we were able to catch up with Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o and Jordan Peele once more.

We’ve chatted about the movie enough, though, so instead we’ll be focusing on four facts we learned about the cast and Jordan Peele.

Lupita and Get Out

Lupita Nyong’o became obsessed with Jordan Peele’s Get Out and watched the movie five times. Same, Lupita, same!

"“I found time to go to the cinema five times in one month while I was working on that film [Black Panther] to watch Get Out.”"

Winston Duke’s thighs

When asked if he was surprised by the audience’s reactions to the movie, the actor replied that he was, but not exactly about what we were expecting.

More from Movies

"“I was definitely surprised by a couple moments… my thighs are a thing apparently? And whenever they come out, things happen. Literally hearing people go ‘ooooh’ I’m like, ‘okay, alright, look at my FACE,'” he joked."

Jordan Peele is afraid of roaches

Peele is afraid of roaches and waterbugs, and we can all totally relate.

"“I’m terrified of roaches and waterbugs… because those little motherf——, they’re just like STILL, right? And you’re just like ‘okay…I’m just gonna take a step back and then they just pripripriiii! [suggesting they dash and disappear]”"

Peele’s red-version

Jordan Peele believes we all have a “red,” or tethered, version of ourselves, just like the movie. Peele was very honest about who he thinks that version of himself is.

"“I think the tethered version of myself is probably the one that is making these f**ked up movies.”"
