Temptation Island Season 1, Episode 9 recap: The sex episode

This is the sex episode of Temptation Island. One more date, an extended affair, provides the most temptation opportunity.

There are no more bonfires left on Temptation Island. With less singles, things are nearly done and getting incredibly serious. Three of four couples look like they’re all but done.

Who would have thought Javen and Shari would be the most likely to stay together?

Romantic Getaways selection

The romantic getaway is an overnight date. Moreover, the singles who are not selected are eliminated. For the most part, the guys had no shockers. Evan and Morgan, Karl and Brittney, John and Katheryn. The only moderate surprise is Javen going with Kayla. Can’t blame him; she’s a great catch. Hannah, Erica, and Rachel are eliminated.

The women take a similarly familiar path. Kaci picks Val, who is WAY too overconfident. Shari hesitantly picks Justin, and Justin is suitably confident. Nicole obviously chooses Tyler, and Kady obviously selects Dr. John. The three dudes eliminated are Jack, Jonathan, and Scott. For the most part, none of the three played a major role the entire season and didn’t get a lot of attention. Freedom.

Romantic getaways

Evan / Kaci

Sailing: Val and Kaci, well, how did she get so much screen time? Val falls down, and the date is initially awkward as Val tries to make himself look better by dissing Evan. Odds of sex: 5%. Meanwhile, Evan is on a romantic date with Morgan, with a kissing scene straight out of The Beach. The sail in the sunset and talk about their future together. Odds of sex: 100%.

John / Kady

Hotels and dolphins: John and Katheryn enjoy their time immensely. The both wear life preservers in 4-ft of water, and clap when the dolphin does tricks. The late-night, romantic dinner is when John has a hard time with words yet again, but tells Katheryn he’s ready to see her after the show. Odds of sex: 90%. They plan to move Kady’s stuff out of the house post-haste. Kady and Dr. John go to a romantic beach villa that is as conducive to sex as any of the dates could possibly be. During dinner, however, she hedges her bets about the post-Temptation Island life. Odds of sex: 99%.

Javen / Shari

Javen and Kayla take a helicopter ride. Kayla’s wearing a multi-colored, vertical striped pantsuit that fits like spandex. Javen’s casual wear signifies his feelings. After the ride, they eat an expensive meal with champagne, and Javen gushes about Shari. Odds of sex: 0%. Speaking of Shari, she does yoga on the beach with Justin. It’s a little too Kiana’s Flex Appeal. They talk later in the hot tub, and she’s not as certain, not quite 100% committed to Javen. Afterwards, she mentions in confessional how she wasn’t trying to actually find love or a relationship on the show. Odds of sex: 5%.

Karl / Nicole

Karl and Brittney start their date by going to a hotel room where they kiss on the balcony. A couples massage follows, and the chemistry is great. Brittney says she adores Karl and makes faces like she’s ready to have sex the entire date. Odds of sex: 100% (Karl admitted it). Who knew she was the most thirsty single on Temptation Island? Nicole starts her description of Tyler by saying he really isn’t her type physically. They eat dinner on the beach. Karl puts on the full court press. Odds of sex: 2%

The guys learn it’s the last night.

The next morning after the dates, host Mark Walberg tells the guys this is their last opportunity to see their dates. The final confrontation is next, and the singles don’t know if they’ll even see the guys again. Evan’s look says it all…
