Who is Walker?

Just as Jim and Eduardo/Bane are finishing up their little heart-to-heart, Walker arrives dragging Bruce into their little group therapy session. Walker says that all of this is about punishing the city for the sins of Bruce Wayne and commands Bane to start beating on poor Jim Gordon. As he does, Walker asks Gordon to name the person she is thinking of. In the moment, I’m taking the guess of Ra’s al-Ghul.

He finally guesses that this is because of Ra’s, and “Walker” reveals that she is indeed the daughter of Ra’s al-Ghul, Nyssa al-Ghul, seeking revenge for her father’s death. I do kind of like the parallel between this, the conclusion of Gotham and the film the Dark Knight where Bruce Wayne is forced to confront his past deeds of killing Ra’s while facing Bane, created by the daughter of his vanquished former mentor.

But “Walker” also reveals that she’s seeking revenge against Barbara, as she helped Bruce kill Ra’s al-Ghul. Jim threatens to destroy her and everything she has after she sends Bane after Babs, but Nyssa cruelly reminds him that she already had everything taken from her. She then has Strange take Gordon for some experimentation.

Nyssa informs the young Bruce that she will use the military’s failsafe protocol to wipe out Gotham. Luckily, Bruce is able to break free of his bonds and subdue his captors. He gets in contact with Alfred and Selina, instructing them to protect Barbara and her baby while he frees Jim from Strange’s clutches.

The duo frees the general – who was also captured back at the plant – and tell him of Nyssa’s plan. The general assures them that he will tell the brass to hold off on that fail-safe plan, but a look in his eyes makes me think Strange put one of those mind-control chips in his head while everyone was knocked out.
