2. A Michael/Maria/Alex love triangle takes shape.

Michael saying, “it’s a real bisexual alien blast around here”, is one of those instantly iconic lines. But, I’m not thrilled about the budding love triangle forming between him, Maria, and Alex. I like both pairings (all three pairings really as I love Maria and Alex’s friendship), Michael Vlamis has chemistry with everyone he shares the screen with.

It’s just, as a bisexual woman myself, it’s tiring to see myself depicted as someone who is always torn between a man and a woman and can’t make up their mind, or is constantly confused. Being bisexual doesn’t mean you’re always looking to see if the grass is greener on the other side. Good Trouble has the same issue with their bisexual character, Gael.

1. Isobel might be innocent.

I predicted Isobel was likely possessed by another being pretty early on. The odds of Roswell, New Mexico making one of its lead characters commit a heinous act in the first season didn’t seem likely. That said, I’m happy to get the confirmation she might not have actually been responsible for Rosa’s death.

Though I am kind of sad we missed out on bisexual Isobel. For a moment, it appeared the show might go in that direction but in reality, it’s the alien who was possessing her that was actually in love with Rosa.

After the hospital shooting, Max and Liz realize the similarities between the heel-face turn from Connor the barista, Wyatt Long, and Isobel. All of them already had pre-existing conditions that could cause blackouts and the fourth alien could be responsible for taking hold of their mental state during prolonged periods to force them into committing unspeakable acts of violence.

Odds & Ends

  • Who is the fourth alien? My money is on Noah.
  • Lily Cowles was excellent this week playing the different variations of Isobel being normal vs. Isobel being possessed.
  • How will the Caulfield prison come into play?
  • Does anyone else think Maria’s mom is still going to play a bigger role in all of this somehow?
  • How cute is it that Jim’s nickname for Kyle was “Magoo”.

A new episode of Roswell, New Mexico titled, “Champagne Supernova”, premieres April 9 at 9/8c on The CW.
