Supergirl gives us an extra dose of girl power this week as Supergirl, Lena, and Alex team up to find Lex. Here’s our recap.

This week’s Supergirl picks up with Alex finding an unconscious Lena in her office. Alex also finds the letter Eve left and realizes that Eve has been working with Lex all along. When Lena wakes she is clearly traumatized and remorseful but Alex tells her that she has nothing to be sorry for and Lena is sent to the hospital.

Supergirl and J’onn have been on the hunt for Lex, who is nowhere to be found. While they are scanning from the sky J’onn sees a vision of his father and his powers falter and he falls. He wants to continue to help in the hunt for Lex but Supergirl tells him to take care of himself for once. In order to figure out who he truly is J’onn plans to commune with his father’s spirit for advice.

Lena, still recovering from her incident with Lex, is not content to simply stay put in a hospital bed. She walks out and goes to confront her mother Lillian in prison. Lillian, true to form, offers no real information other than that Eve is in love with Lex. Instead, she taunts Lena and preys on her weaknesses. She tells Lena that her friends will hate her when they realize she has been working with Lex and this is obviously a very real fear for Lena.

Back at LCorp Alex is waiting for Lena in order to ask for her help. Lena agrees, even though it will mean working with Supergirl. Despite their rocky relationship, they know that finding Lex is more important than any differences they may have. The enemy of my enemy is my friend after all.

The three women decide to use Eve as the weakest link to get to Lex and go to see an aunt Eve had previously mentioned. The aunt isn’t at home, but Eve’s cousin Bitsie is. The girls can tell almost immediately that she’s lying to them though. It turns out Eve had been there and used Lena’s serum to cure her cousin of cancer.

The cousin eventually tells them of a secret lab Eve has at National City University. She’s just full of surprises that Eve. So the team heads to the lab and it doesn’t take long for Supergirl to find a stash of Harun-El that Eve had hidden away in a safe.

Supergirl is understandably upset and angry that Lena lied to her and kept something so dangerous and Lena is upset that Supergirl keeps doubting her intentions. Lena and Supergirl have it out, but after Alex steps in to defend Lena and remind Supergirl that without Lena’s experiments James would be dead the argument cools down.

With Superman off Earth, it’s up to Supergirl to keep everyone safe and with Lex on the loose she’s feeling that pressure more than ever. Kryptonite endangers her, and therefore endangers everything she’s trying to protect. It’s a lot for anyone to bear. After she explains her side of things Supergirl apologizes to Lena and the two women seem to be on good terms once more.

Unfortunately, peace doesn’t last long as no sooner do they realize that Eve was using a Cadmus Metallo project to bring people back to life when one of the experiments shows up. With a heart made of kryptonite, Supergirl couldn’t beat it alone but Lena manages to make a grenade on the spot (have we mentioned she’s a genius?) and along with Alex’s stun gun they manage to stop the attacker.

Meanwhile, J’onn has been praying and seeking guidance from his father. Once his father does appear, it’s not quite what J’onn expected. Instead of giving the guidance J’onn so desperately desires, he tells J’onn that he has failed and that he is going to take away the sacred symbols of their people.

J’onn’s father goads him into getting angry, which allows J’onn to come to the realization that who he is is the Martian Manhunter. He plans to bury his people’s sacred symbols in the desert where they were first given to them, until someone worthy comes along to claim them. And at the end of the episode we see him taking off in a spaceship to presumably do just that.

Lena heads back to Lillian’s prison cell with a blueprint of the prison she found at Eve’s secret lab. It turns out Lex had marked Lillian’s cell in red, a sign that he was not coming to free her but to kill her. With the tables turned Lena now taunts Lillian and asks who she’s going to put her trust in, the psychopath or the one woman can and will protect her. The answer seems pretty obvious, we’re definitely Team Lena.

In D.C. Ben Lockwood is still working towards the repeal of the Alien Amnesty Act. A senator whose vote he was counting on calls Lockwood into her office to tell him she will no longer be voting for the repeal and it appears that Lockwood may just lose. However, when it comes time for the press conference the senator votes with him and the act is repealed. But everything is not on the up and up because on the screen the image flickers for just a moment and Eve is revealed to be there.

Due to the repeal of the Alien Amnesty Act there are riots in D.C. Kara and James both go, but only after Kara reveals to James that they found a gun in Eve’s lab that matches the gun that shot him. Meaning Lex, and not Manchester Black, was behind his shooting. This really seems to rattle James.

James is inside with government officials as press while Supergirl is outside patrolling. When Supergirl thinks she’s found a car that’s hiding Eve she goes to approach it but finds out it was only a hologram and was a trap to leave her stuck in one of the suits of kryptonite. Another point for Ms. Teschmacher.

With Supergirl trapped it allowed Red Daughter time to make her appearance and attack all of the people in the government, where James also happened to be. During the attack, James’ trauma manifested and left him unable to do anything. Finally accepting that he is not okay, James turns to his sister for help when he returns home and she promises him she’s not going anywhere. We’re going to be seeing a lot more of the Olsen siblings.

Supergirl manages to break free of the suit eventually, but not soon enough and there seem to be many casualties from Red Daughter’s attack. Afterwards, the President declares martial law and announces Supergirl as public enemy #1.

Luckily for Supergirl Colonel Haley, Alex, and Lena all believe in her innocence and Alex and Lena promise that they’re going to get to the bottom of this together. It was such a nice change to see all three women working together and with Lex and Eve still on the loose and Supergirl as public enemy #1 I think we’ll be seeing much more of this team up for the rest of the season.
