This week on Jane the Virgin, Jane tries to figure out if she and Jason/Michael are still married. Meanwhile, Rogelio deals with a rivalry with River on their show.

This week on Jane the Virgin, Jane tries to solve the issue whether or not she is still married to Jason/Michael, Rafael and Luisa go and visit Rose in prison, and Rogelio begins filming the English version of his telenovela. Oh, and we’re reminded that Alba married Jorge so he can get his green card and a travel visa to visit his sick mother.

Jane is moving out of Alba’s home and Jorge is moving in, and there’s a big mix of emotions all around. Alba knows that her marriage to Jorge is not real, but she’s catching real feelings. It’s all very complicated, and it’s not hard to feel for Alba in this complicated situation.

Jane is waiting for a phone call from her lawyer to confirm whether or not she is still married to Jason/Michael or not. When the lawyer finally calls, she learns she’ll know the answer in about a week. So they move Jason and his dog into the Marbella (where we learn he’s still attracted to Petra) and the two of them spend more time together. Where we learn Jason really cares about money.

The lawyer finally calls, they are still married. And this leaves Jane feeling all kinds of feelings. She tells Rafael that they have a meeting with a judge in six months to see if the death certificate can still nullify the marriage certificate. However, when Raf suggests a divorce, Jane says she can’t get a divorce, Catholics don’t divorce. But it turns out that’s not the only reason, she feels guilty because what if Jason/Michael gets his memories back?

Jason/Michael takes Jane line dancing, and they seem to be having fun until he kisses her. She walks out. He tells her that she’s his wife, so he assumed it would be okay. She goes to Raf and tells him that she’s going to divorce Jason/Michael. However, when she goes to get the divorce papers, he tells her the dog ate them, but he was lying. Dun, dun, duuuuunn.

Meanwhile, Rogelio has begun filming his new show, The Passions of Steve and Brenda. While he thought their feud was over, River had other plans. Bribing the writers to cut Rogelio’s monologue, and then bringing a secret to Xo to try and convince her to make Rogelio okay with it.

Just like every episode, there are a lot of heartfelt moments in this week’s episode. Here are the top three tearjerker/heartfelt moments in this week’s episode:

Rafael and Jane don’t say what they mean

Rafael and Jane share a phone call about halfway through the episode where they tell each other that they’re okay. But as the narrator points out, they don’t say what they mean.

Jane wants to spill all her anxieties about her guilt about divorcing Michael because what if he gets his memories back, and she really doesn’t know how she feels about it. And Rafael wants to tell her how scared he is that if Michael gets his memories back, she’s going to choose him, and Raf is going to lose her.

But of course, these feelings don’t get said. At least not right away.

Jane and Rafael finally say they’re feelings

“I wish he never came back.” What powerful words Jane spoke near the end of the episode, and what truer words are there? She had finally moved on and Michael came back, throwing a wrench in everything.

She and Rafael are very open about their feelings and their fears, and this scene really shows how far their relationship has come. And Jane finally realizes that she just needs to divorce Jason/Michael.

Alba and Jorge

Their whole storyline last night was heart-wrenching. Jorge is obviously just in the marriage for the benefits of being able to get to see his mom, and Alba is catching real feelings. At the end of the episode, Jorge tells Jane that he won the visa lottery and he’s leaving to go visit his mom.

When Alba reveals that she used Rogelio to speed up the process so she could send Jorge away in order to protect her heart? Heartbreaking. It just really makes you feel for Alba and her predicament.
