25. Tormund

The role he’d take: One would probably need to be made for him

Why he’d be worthy: Let’s be honest. There isn’t really a current place for Tormund in the current setup. He doesn’t quite fit Lord Commander, but he could command a different section of the army. A position would likely need to be created for him, which has certainly happened with other reigning monarchs in Game of Thrones.

How about Commander of the Wildlings? Wouldn’t that make sense for this dependable and loyal guy? He does have a strong voice among all the Wildlings, after all. Of course, trying to combine all the Wildlings in one would be impossible, but here’s an idealistic world.

But why should Tormund even be a consideration? Well, it’s all about his loyalty. When he finds someone he can get behind, he will always have their back. We’ve seen how he has stood by Jon’s side for a few seasons now, never wavering and trusting his commander. Yet, he’s still commanded the respect of others – maybe just not Brienne of Tarth!

Tormund may not seem it, but he is a smart man. He’s good with tactics and that goes a long way for the role of a commander.
