The Waif

Time of Death: Season 6, Episode 8 “No One”

Cause of Death: Sliced and diced by Arya Stark in a darkened corner of Braavos.

Valar Morghulis: The Waif (Faye Marsay) had it out for poor Arya from the second she stepped foot in the House of Black and White. While the Waif may have been a stand in for Arya’s uncertainty in her own dedication to the life of a Faceless Man, she was ruthless in her pursuit of delivering pain to the youngest Stark girl. A girl was set to become no one, but the rage she had for her contemporary was everything.

So when Arya decided that she needed to return to her life as a Stark, there was one obstacle she had to overcome: The Waif’s exuberant violence. Fortunately, Arya is one smart cookie, and she plotted her escape early on, securing a small, lightless hidey hole in the middle of the free city. Using a trail of her own blood, Arya led the unsuspecting Waif to her lair where she snuffed out the candle… and then snuffed out her competition. It was a triumphant move for our girl as she won everything she ever wanted in one fell swoop. Both a Stark and a Faceless Man, Arya returned to the chess board of Westeros, now one of the most deadly pieces in the great game.
