Game of Thrones: Four potential saviors of humanity

Kinvara is scary.

While we’ve seen a few priestesses on Game of Thrones, we don’t really know who the true holders of power are and which are Benny Hinning around town for the attention and fame. What we know for sure, however, is Kinvara is the absolute, bonafide, real deal.

More from Game of Thrones

Just like Melisandre, she’s a red priestess, a follower of R’hllor, the Lord of Light. Additionally, she thinks Daenerys Targaryen very well could be “The Prince That Was Promised.” In fact, when she met Tyrion Lannister and Varys at the Great Pyramid in Meereen, she basically said she believes because of the dragons and all the freed slaves. What makes her legitimate, however, is not the religious zealotry or the belief. Kinvara’s proof is in what she said to Varys.

Perhaps the only one able to do so the entire Game of Thrones series, she shuts Varys up when she tells him about the time he was castrated by a “second rate sorcerer” who threw the twig and berries into the fire. Then she throws in another detail about someone speaking from the flame. She knows it all, and it terrifies Varys.

One more note about Melisandre: she’s heading to Volantis to gather up hundreds of other red priests and priestesses. What she’ll do with them, when she’ll return, how they’ll fight the wights and White Walkers (power to control fire??), and every other detail is unknown at this time, but it sure does make for a great theory.

The wild card

Ignore magic for the moment. Let’s focus on experimental necromancy and unethical human experimentation. Qyburn is the Dr. Evil of this equation, and what he’s done up to this point could prove incredibly useful. Frankenstein Gregor Clegane is a true mystery.

Can the transformation be duplicated? Is the procedure swift and effortless, like with a potion? If Qyburn’s experiments can work once, why not over and over again? Good zombies versus bad zombies to rule the kingdom!
