HBO has released a trailer for Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 2. Here is our preview for the second episode of the final season!

The first chapter of the six-part finale is already in the books for Game of Thrones. Thankfully, HBO isn’t keeping everything a complete secret this season. The network released a 50-second teaser trailer previewing what’s to come in the second episode.

The premiere episode was full of important moments. There were heart-warming reunions, awkward encounters, dragon-riding, and successful rescue attempts. But all of that was overshadowed by one key revelation. Jon Snow finally learned the truth that he is a Targaryen, more importantly, the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

As much as Jon claims to be focusing solely on the impending war against the Night King, the new truth will surely weigh on him moving forward. This throws a wrench in his relationship with Daenerys as she probably won’t be too pleased learning of his heritage. She is already on the outs with Sansa and the rest of Winterfell and this news could hurt everyone’s focus.

The first episode also saw the return of Jaime Lannister to Winterfell. Last time didn’t fare well for the Kingslayer or for Bran, who was waiting for his “old friend” to return all episode. Jaime’s arrival will be in focus for the second episode as he comes face to face with Daenerys.

Even though his brother is accepted by Dany, it won’t be so easy for Jaime as he killed her father and doesn’t have a great history when it comes to the Starks, either.

The episode will also see another confrontation between Sansa and Daenerys. It will be interesting to see if they can put their issues aside until after the war. Speaking of the war, it looks like the Night King and his army are getting very close to Winterfell. Tormund arrives to Winterfell to warn Jon of their impending arrival “before the sun comes up tomorrow.” The rest of the crew, including Arya, look to be getting ready as they may be running out of time.

The Battle of Winterfell will reportedly take place in Episode 3 so get ready for the calm before the storm. It might even be the last episode before death tears through the North.
