As Fallon plays a dangerous game with Liam, Dynasty reveals the new face Adam chose for Alexis. Who’s behind the bandages?

They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and Dynasty’s new resident Carrington appears to have redefined that saying. Adam’s violent history and current finely planned manipulation of Blake eclipses any shameful deed his family has committed. But playing puppet master over Alexis’ physical transformation marks Adam’s most shocking move yet.

While Adam orchestrates a calculated mess, reuniting with Liam forces Fallon to read between the lines and surrender her combative instincts. From powerful to powerless, we’re ranking Carrington manor’s best and brightest on their quest for control. Here’s how the power struggle stacked up in the latest episode of Dynasty Season 2. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)

1. Fallon

Naturally, no one heolds more power than Fallon Carrington, publisher extraordinaire. Picking up from the previous episode’s cliffhanger, Fallon and Liam’s new working relationship begins on thin ice. The problem? They don’t want to work together. To avoid the $6 million payout for not publishing Liam’s book, Fallon vows to force him out of his contract and use that money to pedal the debut book from Glo, a popular writer inciting a bidding war.

More from CW

Between bending over backwards to land Glo as an author and push Liam out, which he sees directly through, Fallon’s got a lot on the burners. She also does a lot of listening and growing this week rather than rejecting this tough lessons. But since she’s still Fallon, she hijacks Liam’s book even for Glo’s, and it’s the final blow.

Finally, she reads Liam’s book and realizes it’s about her — them — and waves the white flag. His book will be published, and they’ll start a new chapter.

2. Adam

If you thought Fallon kept busy with her various endeavors, Adam hit us with a major “Hold my beer.” In an instant, he’s become a major player at the Atlantix offices, and he’s ruffling feathers left and right. For starters, Jeff’s none too thrilled with the long-lost Carrington spawn and goes so far as to tape Adam swapping a positive drug test for a negative drug test. Unfortunately, Adam’s always one step ahead. Not to mention, Adam’s inspiration for Alexis’ new face finally sees the light of day and it’s… Fallon? Elizabeth Gillies, is that you?

3. Culhane and Jeff

Dynasty’s at its best when Culhane and Jeff are working together, and I’m happy to report that Dynasty is currently at its best. Jeff still holds a grudge over Blake for thwarting his land purchase, and Culhane grows suspicious of Blake’s behind-the-scenes deals. He notices $10 million missing from their expenses, which Blake says he’s set aside for investors.

However, after Jeff strikes out on exposing Adam, he drops the truth about Blake’s revenge plan against Culhane. Given that ammunition, Culhane digs deep and believes Blake has been laundering money. Get him!

4. Kirby

She’s taken her time to get to this point, but Kirby’s stepping up and making some big moves. First of all, her partnership with Fallon effectively repairs any bad blood that remained between them. Of course, their reconciliation nearly erupts when Monica sends Fallon a photo of Kirby and Culhane kissing at Club Colby, but Fallon realizes that her friendship with Kirby is more important than severing that bond over a man. Kirby wisely takes advantage of Fallon’s honesty to secure the top spot overlooking Glo’s book deal from press to promotion. She’s come a long way!

5. Cristal

A couple episodes ago, Cristal not only dug but excavated herself into a deep pit of trouble and it’s beginning to fill with water. Because she made a deal with her family, which might as well have been the devil, she fears that her father could strike back since she didn’t follow through with her end of the bargain. But Blake doesn’t take Cristal’s concerns seriously, prompting her and Sammy Jo to stage a warning from her father. It’s all fun and games until he actually starts killing people…

Next. Dynasty casting shake-up: 5 stars who could replace Nicollette Sheridan. dark

Honorable Mentions:

  • Alexis has zero power, but she seems thrilled about her new face and looking younger. But surely Liz Gillies in makeup won’t be the final decision for Alexis… right? We’re still getting a high-profile new cast member… right? While we wait for answers, let’s discuss: Why does Adam clearly have an obsession with Fallon?
  • Blake was once fun to watch, but now he’s simply irredeemable. He’s careless and selfish. On the other hand, Adam’s an entertaining unlikable character. Case in point: When he feared Jeff caught him tampering with the drug test, he didn’t care about the fate of the team. He cared that his long-game against the Carringtons was in jeopardy. What does Blake care about?
  • Let’s talk more about Fallon. She truly metabolized what Glo had to say about feminism, saw Kirby as an equal (even apologizing for her history of poor friendship) and let down her guard around Liam. Props to Liz Gillies for shading in these character developments without losing the hallmarks of Fallon’s unapologetic personality.
