13. Proven Innocent

Number of seasons: 1

Network: FOX

Why it’s in danger: When a network introduces a new show, it will want it to perform well. There’s the knowledge that a show will lose viewers between the first and second season. At least, that’s the case for the majoirty of TV shows.

Proven Innocent didn’t really get a chance. It debuted on a Friday night, which is the worst night for TV shows. It shows that FOX didn’t really have that much hope for the series, in the way that it didn’t give The Exorcist a chance last season.

Proven Innocent is FOX’s lowest-rating TV show on the network in terms of demo. It sits below The Gifted, and by a substantial amount. The total audience may be above The Gifted, but it’s still low compared to everything else. In fact, Gotham is the next closest and that’s ending after this season.

There hasn’t been the interest in the series. There’s barely any noise about it on social media. This is despite the strong cast, especially with Kelsey Grammer, and the intriguing, politically-pushed storyline.

Chances of renewal: Unless somehow the delayed viewings are spectacular, don’t expect a second season of Proven Innocent.
