At this point, it makes very little sense to kill many of the survivors on the Game of Thrones series finale. So who is in trouble in Episode 6?

Honestly, WHO IS LEFT? (#PrayersForKingsLanding) If Game of Thrones has taught us anything, it’s that nobody is safe. From Eddard Stark way before anyone expected it, to Joffrey’s choking fit that felt nearly orgasmic to viewers, death is guaranteed.

With limited screen time, the final episode needs to clean up several story details. This should not be a death-heavy finale. Having said that, some deserve the dirt nap.

Odds of death: In trouble

Let’s get the easy ones out of the way first.

Jaime and Cersei Lannister

More from Game of Thrones

Just in case there is some miraculous saved-from-rubble-days-later chicanery, because it’s possible, they need to be confirmed among the dead like this is a zombie movie. Ideally, they’re whispering for help under crushed lungs, with dust and dirt covering their faces like someone buried alive in a shallow grave. People hear their whimpers from afar. It’s a rescue party! And Ser Brienne is leading the search!

Slowly the rescuers approach, and climb up a pile of rubble some 15-20 feet high. A glimmer of hope shines into Lannister eyes. Brienne takes a single step forward, causing a secondary collapse, crushing the life out of Jaime, and squishing out Cersei’s eye like that girl from Hostel.

Clegane brothers

We know they’re dead. Even the original Frankenstein knew “fire bad” as a general rule. Again, however, I’m going off the zombie movie rules, and I need to see a crispy, 7-ft body.

Daenerys

The real question everyone has is: Will Daenerys die? How can she not? There is absolutely no final story, no resolution, no redemption for what she did. It’s impossible for her to survive the finale. Either Jon Snow, Arya Stark, or Tyrion Lannister kills her. No negotiations. No deviations. Full stop. Anything else would be unacceptable.

Drogon

No Daenerys means no Drogon. The dragon has bonded with her, and it doesn’t matter that Jon Snow is really a Targaryen. The dragon is like a rabid dog: can’t be trusted.

Odds of death: Be cautious

Jon Snow

He doesn’t want to be ruler. He knows Daenerys can’t be ruler. The only other person Drogon trusts is Jon (i.e. Aegon). How it all plays out is uncertain, but Jon Snow will have to be in harm’s way to ensure neither Dany nor the dragon survives.

Grey Worm

Again, he has nothing left to live for other than revenge (check) and protecting his queen (who will be dying). Since he went crazy along with his queen, it makes sense for him to die in battle defending her.

Next. Thanks for nothing, Bran Stark.. dark

Game of Thrones will sadly end Sunday night on HBO.
