Our watch has ended. Game of Thrones is a wrap! Let’s remember every character we said goodbye to in Season 8.

Whether you love or hate the final season of Game of Thrones, it’s safe to say we can all agree it features some shocking events. And even if you feel as though you love Season 8 completely, you have to admit many plots and subplot were rather disappointing.

Before we get to any of that, though, here’s you spoiler warning! If you are not caught up on the series or missed the Season 8 finale, please note there are massive spoilers ahead. Proceed at your own risk.

The first two episodes of the season didn’t feature any deaths. Instead of kicking off the final chapter with death and violence, we get character development and story. This all changes in the third episode, “The Long Night,” as we see the deaths of Eddison Tollett, Lyanna Mormont, Beric Dondarrion, Theon Greyjoy, Jorah Mormont, The Night King, and Melisandre.

More from Game of Thrones

In Episode 4, “The Last of the Starks,” we say goodbye to Missandei and Rhaegal. The fifth episode, “The Bells,” is pretty much all about death, mostly the deaths of innocents. As far as main characters go, though, we see Lord Varys, Euron, Qyburn, Ser Gregor, Sandor, and the very unsatisfying and disappointing deaths of Cersei and Jaime.

Finally, in the series finale, Daenerys Targaryen was the last one to fall, and at the hands of Jon Snow.

Check out the quick list of deaths, below:

  • Eddison Tollett
  • Lyanna Mormont
  • Beric Dondarrion
  • Theon Greyjoy
  • Jorah Mormont
  • The Night King
  • Melisandre
  • Missandei
  • Rhaegal
  • Lord Varys
  • Euron
  • Qyburn
  • Ser Gregor
  • Sandor
  • Cersei
  • Jaime
  • Daenerys Targaryen

While we’re glad the Stark sisters, Samwell Tarly, and Tyrion Lannister survived, we do wish Jon Snow had received a better ending. A happier one, he’s been pretty miserable since we met him. We are also pleased Drogon is safe, we would have hated to see the end of the dragons.

Next. 5 shows that shouldn’t have been cancelled. dark
