It all started with a tech genius being killed while working on a project in a bunker. Project Z had nothing to do with zombies despite the name and was actually linked to the end of the world coming. Cornell wanted to create a bunker that would be suitable to live in for 20 years and he’d handpicked a group of humans to live in the bunker.
Just before he is killed, he removes a name from his list and puts Peyton Charles down. Why has she been chosen and who did he remove first? That’s the case for the week.
In a vision, Liv learns that the name removed was Nora, the personal assistant. Nora doesn’t seem that annoyed that she was taken off the list, knowing that Cornell did things through logic. However, she does admit that the project shouldn’t have still been on the go. It was running the company into the ground.
Liv gets another vision. Cornell was paid for something he didn’t deliver and The Fixture Man was the client. Of course, as you’d expect, The Fixture Man isn’t happy about zombies and refuses to speak to Renegade. It’s okay because Clive finds out the contact lens found at the crime scene likely belonged to the Fixture Man and gets a warrant for his arrest.

Zombie-human tensions continue to get worse
The humans and zombies of Seattle just can’t get alone. One of the teachers at the school is fired for being a zombie, which I’m sure is illegal. Major needs to figure out what to do about that but there’s a huge problem. What he doesn’t know is he’s got a problem within his ranks.
The French commander has decided to wake up the two zombies who killed a bunch of zombie-hating humans a couple of weeks ago. This French dude is now working with some unnamed guy, who is more like the leader of some zombie cult, to bring the end to humans. When one of the guys refuses to join, Cult Leader Zombie kills him. The other guy has no choice but to join.
Meanwhile, at Blaine’s bar, he has a problem with Deadenders while a magazine writer is interviewing him. He decides to take matters into his own hands — and you know what that means — to get rid of the humans. It’s clear she wants to know something more than that, though, including his life before the wall went up and the fancy mask he wore.
As for Major, he figures out the teacher could work for Renegade to teach the younger kids. He needs to keep it a secret, but it’s clear he can’t possibly do that. It’s not surprising he finds himself kidnapped, but he’s kidnapped by the zombies.
There’s another problem. Curtis figures out that the Deadenders are using a website to out every single zombie. The Fixture Man was paying Cornell to gather data to speed up the process. With that knowledge, it’s not surprising that Cornell’s zombie ex was the one that killed him after finding out that Cornell was willing to create the system, connecting this plotline to the murder.
Will the comedy show work to soothe relations?
Peyton thinks she may have found a way to ease tensions. A couple of episodes ago, she agreed to the comedy show. While it could work, it certainly has its kinks.
Right now, the comedy is too on the nose, using the stereotypes of zombies. Of course, Jimmy wasn’t too happy about being told to stop doing the comedy he’d like. Yasmin offers the idea of the humans being the ones to make the wrong assumptions instead of the zombies being the ones to make jokes.
When Peyton is happy with that, Jimmy quits and so do two of the actors. Is there any hope? Yes, there is. Jimmy and two of the actors return when Yasmin writes a script that Peyton loves. The show will go on.
