In the series premiere of HBO’s new teen drama series Euphoria, Zendaya stars as 17-year-old addict Rue. Here’s how to watch live online.

If you have been on social media in the past week, then you have heard the chatter surrounding HBO’s new teen drama series Euphoria starring former Disney star Zendaya. From the talk of over 30 penises in a locker room scene to graphic depictions of rape and drug use, the series has garnered comparisons to Netflix’s equally explicit teen drama series 13 Reasons Why as well as mixed advanced reception from critics. But this is one summer series you won’t want to miss.

Based on an Israeli series of the same name, Euphoria stars The Greatest Showman and Spider-Man: Homecoming breakout Zendaya as teenage drug addict Rue Bennett. When she leaves rehab with no desire to remain clean, she meets Jules, a new girl in town, at a house party. The series centers on a group of teenagers attempting to keep their heads above water in a rigorous world of sex, drugs, trauma, and social media while maintaining love and friendships.

More from HBO

Apart from leading star Zendaya, Euphoria features an ensemble cast that includes Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith, and Sydney Sweeney. The series comes from executive producers Drake and Future the Prince and popular production company A24.

All eight episodes were written by the adaptation’s creator Sam Levinson, who has said the series was inspired from events in his life. How closely will the narrative reflect his experiences and how much will fall in line with the original series? Is the series as graphic as critics are making it out to be? Will the series manage to attract a fervent fanbase? Can we expect Euphoria to make bold statements about modern adolescence?

Don’t miss the answers to these questions and more as Euphoria debuts its controversial stories this Sunday night. Watch a sneak peek of what to expect from Zendaya’s highly anticipated HBO series premiere in the first-look trailer below!
