Jane Green’s novel, Family Pictures, is brought to life in Lifetime’s latest original movie. We’re ranking the movie’s best scenes.

Family Pictures finishes off Lifetime’s book-to-screen month of June. The film is based on Jane Green’s novel of the same name. It tells the story of two women who have their lives fundamentally altered by the shocking discover their husband is leading a double life.

The movie stars Justina Machado (One Day at a Time), Elisabeth Röhm (Jane the Virgin), and Matt Passmore (The Glades) in its title roles.

5. Eve figures out her dad’s double life.

Eve is the wayward daughter of Sylvie (Machado). She aspires to go to NYU, but Mark (Passmore) doesn’t want her to. He claims the city would be harmful to her health (Grace is a struggling bulimic). Sure, Mark’s second family and biological kids living in New York have nothing to do with it!

When Eve gets accepted into NYU and invited to an orientation party, she can’t resist. Sylvie gives her permission, and off she goes! Side note: Characters in this film fly back and forth between NY and LA a lot for people who are supposed to be struggling for money.

Eve happens to cross paths with her secret sister, Mark’s daughter, Grace. The two hit it off right away. For a normal dad, this would be a heart-touching moment. For Mark, he slinks out of the house in the middle of the night like a startled alley cat.

With Eve at the New York house, it doesn’t take long for her to recognize her father in one of the family photos!
