Annabelle is no match for Buzz and Woody at the box office
By Sandy C.
The box office results are in thanks to Box Office Mojo, how did Annabelle do against Woody and the gang?
Annabelle Comes Home and Yesterday were the new debuts this past weekend, but neither stood a chance against Toy Story 4, which gathered a very impressive $57.9 million. In second place, Annabelle Comes Home follows far behind with $20.3 million.
Comes Home‘s total is pretty solid, and the reviews aren’t bad either for the third movie in Annabelle’s franchise. It’s clear fans still have a lot of love and interest in The Conjuring universe. Adding its international numbers, Comes Home has a grand total of $76.2 million.
Then, there’s Yesterday which collected $17 million domestically. Overseas, the movie accumulated $7.7 million, bringing its total up to $24.7 million. While this isn’t bad for a movie on the small side, the reported budget is $26 million, so it still needs to make its money back.

Also on the countdown are Aladdin with $9.3 million, Men in Black International with $6.5 million, and Child’s Play with $4.2 million. Let’s not ignore Avengers: Endgame back on the top 10. The MCU film made a comeback to the countdown thanks to its re-release.
Unfortunately, however, Endgame‘s re-release was not enough for it to take down Avatar as the highest grossing movie of all-time. Nowhere to be seen in the top 10, though, is Dark Phoenix.
The latest X-Men installment finds itself embarrassingly at No. 13 with a low $1.6 million. For the complete top 10, from Friday, June 28, to Sunday, JUne 30, see below:
