Many characters have been through major transformations over the years of The 100. What You Take With You reminded us of Indra’s transformation.

The 100 has given many characters transformations over the years. Good or bad, we’ve watched questionable characters (Kane) become beloved voices of reason and great characters (Abby, Octavia) struggle with the weight of the choices they’ve had to make. Indra is one character who we don’t see often but did recently get a reminder of the type of transformation she’s had.

Indra, played by the brilliant Adina Porter, initially started off like any other Grounder. She believed in everything that she was taught and was extremely superstitious. However, she took Octavia under her wing and trained her up to become the leader of Wonkru.

However, like how Skikru changed because of the people they met, Indra changed because of those she met. Her and Kane’s friendship blossomed and both of them learned a great deal from each other. We were reminded of all that and more during “What You Take With You.”

When Indra woke up from cryosleep, she took one look at a man she didn’t recognize. Raven and Kane explained the situation, and Indra simply accepted it. The look she gave was one of surprise but not of suspicion.

The Indra we once knew would have immediately gone on the defense. In fact, I think it would have been difficult to convince her to go into cryosleep. Rather than listen, Indra would have attacked this stranger first.

And when Indra did finally hear the truth, she wouldn’t have believed it. She would have fought against the idea of someone switching bodies.

But then we got the emotion from her as Kane said his goodbyes to Abby, Raven, and herself. She looked sad but respectful at the same time. She and Kane shared the “may we meet again” speech, but there was far more emotion to Indra than we’d seen her before. While she believes death isn’t the end, she also knew that she was losing a friend.

Out of all the characters, Indra has had possibly the most subtle of developments. She doesn’t get as much screen time as anyone else — it’s taken nine episodes to wake her from cryosleep! — so we don’t get to see her personality change as much. However, The 100 Season 6, Episode 9 certainly reminded us of everything that we once knew and everything she has become.
