Avengers: Endgame deleted scene reveals what happened to Gamora
What happened to Gamora in Avengers: Endgame? It’s a question we’ve all been asking. The Avengers: Endgame deleted scenes answer the question. Sort of.
There have been many questions since Avengers: Endgame was released in theaters. One of those would have a knock-on effect for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, whenever that comes out. Yes, it’s all about Gamora, and now a deleted scene from the movie tells us what happened to her. At least, sort of.
Six deleted scenes have been released for the movie. Most of them are just funny quips throughout the movie that didn’t add too much extra but are nice additions through deleted scenes. It’s easy to tell why the five were cut from the movie. It’s the sixth that tells us what happened to Gamora.

It turns out that she wasn’t killed in Iron Man’s snap. This was a big question for many. She could have been killed off depending on what Iron Man was thinking of at the time. After all, Gamora did come with Thanos, so it was understandable that many feared Gamora was no more.
However, the deleted scene, which shows those who fought by Iron Man’s side kneel in honor of the man who gave his life so the rest could live, includes Gamora. She looks at those who are kneeling for their fallen comrade, but she then walks away. She’s not part of this group.
Keep in mind that this is past Gamora, the one before she met Quill. While she didn’t like Thanos’ actions, she hadn’t learned the goodness within her from the rest of the Guardians.
At first, I did question why this tear-jerking scene wasn’t included in Avengers: Endgame. It’s a beautiful moment to remember the life Iron Man give up. But it’s all about Gamora. Without the scene, you don’t know if Gamora survived the snap or not.
Plus, this leaves things open for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Just because Gamora survived in the deleted scene doesn’t mean she’s survived in the world. Are deleted scenes classed as canon? I think that one is up for debate, but I class them as canon.
