Avengers: Endgame: Will [Spoiler] be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
By Sandy C.
Though Avengers: Endgame closes the door on an era, it also leaves us with many questions, mainly — will Spoiler be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
Spoiler alert! It’s Monday, so you may have already seen Avengers: Endgame in theaters if you’re a loyal Marvel fan (it did collect over $1.2 billion opening weekend). But just in case you haven’t, be warned there are huge spoilers ahead!
Avengers: Endgame is an immensely satisfying ending to an era and journey we’ve long been part of. As sad as Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.) death is, Marvel does the character justice by giving him an epic and very heroic way to go. “I am Iron Man” and “I love you 3,000” are quotes cemented in history!
What happens now? Where will the franchise head to from here? Fans already know about the next set of movies to come, but in this feature we’re specifically questioning the future of one character: Thor (Chris Hemsworth).

As much as I love Thor, I don’t know yet if I’m a fan of the direction his story is headed, or where it is now. After three movies of him building up to become a leader, he’s thrown it all away. I understand, though, as he tells Valkyrie in his own words, “it’s time to be who I am and not who I was meant to be.” Don’t quote me on it, it’s something along those lines!

Do I want Thor to be something he doesn’t want to be? No. But what now? Will he join the Guardians of the Galaxy in GotG Vol. 3? Thor says it himself when he calls them the Asgardians of the Galaxy (an actually comic reference). Do you really see (or want to see) Thor as a supporting character, though?
I don’t, for two reasons. One, Thor deserves better, and a proper finale. And two, I don’t want the spotlight to be taken from the Guardians, especially Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), who I personally believe is not given enough credit (he’s a great leader) and respect.
There’s no denying, though, that the chemistry between Thor and the Guardians, Quill in particular, is amazing. It’s always nonstop laughs with these two! Hopefully Thor appears in Vol. 3, but briefly before going on his own mission/journey.
Avengers: Endgame is playing in theaters everywhere.
What are your thoughts? What would you like to see next for Thor?
