At Disney’s D23 conference, Disney creators elaborated on what to expect of Marvel shows coming to Disney+ and even threw in new upcoming superhero series.

Disney+ is without a doubt giving all the other streaming services a run for their money by providing original streaming content with big-time movie quality. And the best reason why they are unparalleled is that they are pulling content right from every Marvel comic lover’s dreams.

During the first day of the D23 expo attendees received some insight from creators on the Marvel shows announced at SDCC last month that will stream on Disney +. They added some new TV series surprises as well.

By the looks of it, Disney+ is going to be a beacon of Marvel TV series that will bring to life tons of highly favored comics. Although these shows won’t debut on the silver screen, the same Hollywood actors we are used to playing our favorite superheroes will be on board for the series. Once upon a time, getting Hollywood actors to dedicate themselves to TV shows was a feat in itself, but the whole MCU roster is showing up for the Disney+ lineup.

Disney+ streaming service launches in November, and we’ve already got a handful of Marvel superhero series to look forward to in the coming years. Here’s a breakdown of all the superhero shows coming to Disney+.

What If…

Based on a comic series of the same name that explored alternate realities for the already established MCU narratives, What If… will be an animated series. It’s like the twilight zone edition of the MCU comics we already know. During D23 it was revealed that the series would have one episode for each major MCU film. Kevin Feige also gave a first look at animated footage of the series.

More from Disney Plus

Although the footage hasn’t been released to the public, Den of Geek reported a detailed description of the clip. The teaser featured a short preview of Ben Barnes aka Winter Soldier up against zombified Captain America. Supporting the theory that there will be a zombie Avengers episode. The series narrator The Watcher was featured and voiced by Westworld star Jeffrey Wright.

There was also an extended preview of Peggy Carter being administered the super-soldier serum and becoming Captain Carter. In this alternate story, Peggy gets the serum and becomes what we know as Captain America. Steve Rogers is a regular army dude that has to use a suit similar to the Hulk Buster. As per Feige’s initial announcement at SDCC, Peggy Carter’s episode will be the first episode of the series.

No other information was announced on when to expect to see this show but keep your eyes peeled.

Moon Knight

While Moon Knight isn’t mainstream in popularity, the character has a large fan base that is super excited to hear of the character’s MCU debut. Moon Knight is a former U.S Marine and mercenary that found himself near death at an archeological dig in Egypt. He gains his powers after the followers of the Egyptian God Khonshu present him to their God, granting him powers. Spector also stands out because he has multiple personalities. Marvel’s Loki

After Avengers: Endgame, Loki’s fate came into question since he had died in the previous timeline only to deliver a twist in the Avengers mission in the past. Disney announced during D23 that the Loki series would follow what happens after Loki steals the tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. According to a video of Tom Hiddleston, the new Loki series will answer the questions everyone is asking about Loki’s future. Supposedly, we will also find out if Loki can make a friend and if the sun will shine on him again. The six-episode series will debut in 2021.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Following that big spoiler moment at the end of Avenger’s: Endgame, Falcon’s life has seemingly changed forever. According to Disney, Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be a six-episode series that will explore Falcon’s future after this new development as well as a dive into the pasts of Sam Wilson and Ben Barnes. Falcon will not only be facing being the new Captain America, but he will be faced with the meaning of being America’s superhero as an African-American.

Disney also announced at D23 that Peggy Carter’s great-niece Sharon Carter would be featured in the series. Carter was a former agent that could have been Steve Roger’s love. But don’t bet on that love plot going anywhere, since Rogers went back into the past to be with Peggy. Also, Wyatt Russell will be joining the cast as John Walker who is considered a darker version of Captain America.

She-Hulk

A She-hulk series is officially on which means we will be seeing Bruce Banner’s cousin Jennifer Walters in all her glory. Walters gets her powers from a blood transfusion she had containing Banner’s blood that saves her life and transfers his abilities. The difference is that She-Hulk maintains her personality and doesn’t change into something different when she transforms, unlike her cousin. No further casting or release information was provided for the show, but the news is exciting enough for now.

Wandavision

Of all the shows announced at SDCC, Wandavision has been in the dark the most about its plot though it is set to be released in 2021. At D23, creators announced some details and let’s say that it keeps getting weirder. Wandavision is being marketed as a sitcom and Marvel adventure. Whatever that means. Clips of Wanda and Vision in previous MCU movies and the sitcom The Dick van Dyke show were shown to explain the strange synopsis further.

The show will tie together superhero adventures with sitcom antics that will make it more comedy than the other superhero shows to debut on Disney+. Some familiar faces that will be in the show include Thor‘s Darcy Lewis, Jimmy woo from Ant-man, and an adult version of Monica Rambeau from Captain Marvel. To add to the funny business, Kathryn Hahn will play a nosey neighbor who will probably not know what to make of the superhero shenanigans next door.
