A Million Little Things Season 2 will be here before we know it. Get ready for the emotional rollercoaster with everything we know so far.

What an emotional rollercoaster we went on throughout A Million Little Things Season 1. The second season will be here before we know it, and we’ll need to have our tissues ready. Before we watch the premiere, it’s important to be prepared with everything we know so far.

This is set to be another whirlwind ride of emotions. There is the risk that we could lose anyone along this journey, and we still have a few questions left over from the first season. Here’s everything we know so far about A Million Little Things Season 2.

Who’s returning to A Million Little Things?

More from ABC

Really, the question should be who isn’t returning. Right now, everyone from the first season except Christina Ochoa. Ashley left for Barcelona at the end of the first season, but that doesn’t mean she’ll be gone for good. There is a chance she’ll be back in the second season, but no confirmation just yet.

Ron Livingstone, who played Jon in the first season, isn’t set to return just yet. Many of the mysteries surrounding his suicide were revealed in the first season, and Livingstone has a new series, Loudermilk. The focus for Season 2 is looking forward.

One person missing from the table read for the first episode was Chandler Riggs. He plays PJ, Barbara Nelson’s son. Don’t worry, he’s returning for the second season, according to Good Housekeeping.

Drea de Matteo and James Tupper will return as Barbara and Andrew. TVLine confirms that Melora Hardin will return as Patricia, Maggie’s mother.

Who’s new in the series?

Speaking of Patricia returning, there’s someone new coming into the series connected to her. Kevin (Probably) Saves the World‘s Jason Ritter will guest star in A Million Little Things Season 2. His character hasn’t been named just yet, but he’ll shake things up when he enters Maggie’s life.

We know that Maggie’s brother died, so we can’t speculate that. However, is it possible that he’s someone from the first time she fought cancer? Could it be someone who also knew Maggie’s brother?

Jennifer Ashton from Good Morning America will play herself in the season. Richard Kind will also join the series. He’ll play a family friend who has only just learned about Jon’s death.

What’s the theme?

The first season focused on all the “million little things” that made up life. In Season 2, we’ll move the focus onto family. This isn’t all that surprising since the families in A Million Little Things are growing.

We’ll see Delilah give birth to her child with Eddie, even though everyone believes the child is Jon’s. Patricia is stepping into the series again to connect to Maggie. And we’ll likely see more of Katherine as she juggles work and being a mother. And that’s just the start, right?

The focus won’t just be on the family around them. A Million Little Things is going to focus on what it means to be family and who family is. I get the sense the creators have been taking some inspiration from Supernatural.

Where will Season 2 pick up?

There will be 19 episodes to the season, which is two extra from the 17 we got in the first season. The premiere will pick up from where Season 1 left us, looking like Eddie will tell Katherine the full truth. Is he going to open that can of worms?

Meanwhile, Maggie is cancer-free, and that’s the truth. Well, for now! Of course, cancer can come back, but hopefully, that emotional rollercoaster has come to an end. We get to see her happy with Gary, right?

For Rome and Gina, they’re going to have to figure out where they stand together. They’ve realized that they want something different out of the marriage, and that often means stepping back, re-evaluating things, and discussing what’s next.

Will there be a death?

Sadly, it’s not all good news. There is going to be a death in A Million Little Things Season 2. DJ Nash, the creator, shared that the death will be someone we’ve seen before. This doesn’t mean that it’s going to be one of the main characters.

There have been a few people in and out of the show. With Patricia coming back into the show and someone else from Maggie’s past, is it possible that her father has died? That would certainly throw her for a loop.
