The Flash season 6 has officially arrived and it gave audiences a little of everything to think on. Continue reading for our recap of “Into The Void”.

When the sixth season of The Flash starts out, not much time has passed since season 5. But while the gap in between seasons was short, some major differences are thrown at viewers right away.

For one, it’s clear that Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) has distanced himself from Team Flash. He’s still working with the group, but Cisco politely refuses when Barry (Grant Gustin) asks him to work overtime in the lab. Barry lets the request go and then focuses on his mission to stop Godspeed.

Oh yeah, clones of Godspeed keep popping up in Central City. Barry and Cisco discuss how to address the speedster problem, but they come up short when the real one fails to appear. He’s bound to show at some point in season 6, but for now, the villain is in the wind.

The other members of Team Flash have just as much going on in season 6, too. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), for instance, contemplates allowing Killer Frost to take the driver’s seat for a while. They’re not fighting over control as they’ve done in the past, Ralph Dibny (Hartley Sawyer) merely points out that Frost could want a change.

Instead of just being the monster Caitlin takes out the cage whenever she’s needed, he suggests that Frost be given a chance to live a life of her own. This prompts Caitlin to reach out to her other half.

When she does, Frost is extremely appreciative of Caitlin taking a backseat for her. This doesn’t mean it’s the end of Caitlin Snow, merely the beginning of Killer Frost’s new life. Ralph supports the change by suggesting Frost change her first name. Mind you, Ralph’s suggestion of “Anne” might not work out so well for her.

On Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry’s end, they’re still reeling from the aftermath of their daughter’s death. Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) technically didn’t die, but Barry and Iris have to treat her departure like a death when season 6 picks up.

While Barry and Iris’ daughter has been written out of existence, there’s still a chance Nora will still be born. Neither West-Allen has any clue of how to bring their daughter back, but they hope that having a child in the future will see Nora returned to them.

For more on The Flash Season 6 premiere, you can check out our highlight reel from the episode below:

  • Chester P. Runk uses parts gathered from a junkyard to create an experimental machine he assumes will manipulate gravitational fields. Instead of creating something groundbreaking, Chester opens up a black hole in the city. Half of Chester’s consciousness also winds up trapped in the anomaly during this foul-up.
  • After Chester is rescued and his consciousness returned, his eyes glow a bright yellow color. They appear to have an electric consistency so he may have absorbed energy from the Black Hole, gaining metahuman powers in the process.
  • “Into The Void” concludes with the Anti-Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) showing up to deliver Barry to the Crisis On Infinite Earths event. He’s not supposed to disappear until 2025 but the clock has apparently been sped forward. Perhaps it’s due to the new timeline taking shape.
  • Dr. Ramsey (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is introduced as an old friend of Caitlin’s but uses that connection to retrieve Dark Matter he needs for his experiments. Caitlin refuses his request, leaving Dr. Ramsey to figure out the conundrum on his own. He appears to hit a major roadblock, but finds enough Dark Matter for one injection. When Ramsey injects himself, his transformation into a metahuman begins.
