There have been many versions over the years. It all started with the Charlie’s Angels TV series, and it’s developed into various movie reboots. Some have been funny, while others have focused more on the action. Now it’s time for the 2019 version.
Elizabeth Banks has directed this version, and she also stars as Rebekah Bosley, one of Charlie’s former angels. Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska star as the three angels, Sabina, Elena, and Jane. Djimon Hounsou, Sam Claflin, and Noah Centineo also star in the movie.

There’s also a Star Trek star in the movie. Patrick Stewart will appear as John Bosley, the first and original assistant to Charlie, who was played by Bill Murray in the first installment.
Who will do the voice of Charlie? That honor goes to Robert Clothworthy. This is a high-profile cast that will work for all generations interested in Charlie’s Angel.
So, what’s the story? There’s certainly a standard Charlie’s Angel feel but it’s been brought into the 21st century. The Angels continue to work for Charlie, guided by multiple Bosleys to complete some of the most dangerous missions across the globe. The Townsend Agency has expanded internationally, which means international Angels.
While bringing a modern feel, there’s plenty to honor to the original series. You won’t be disappointed.
