NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service promises to be “hatching soon” with fan-favorite and original programming. The platform is set to launch with a 2-day fan event called Peacock Live!

Peacock, NBCUniversal’s addition to the long list of competing streaming services hitting our screens this year, has revealed on social media that it will be “hatching soon.” The Twitter commercial shows two bird (we assume peacock) eggs in a nest under heat lamps.

Though many of the comments under the tweet seem to poke fun at the vast amount of current competing streaming services, many likely don’t realize that Peacock will be available to many viewers without needing to add on another monthly bill. With reports from this past fall teasing an April 2020 launch date, we still seem to be on track for Peacock to be available this spring.

More from NBC

NBCUniversal has released a list of content we can expect to find on the site’s library, said to feature over 15,000 hours of programming. This includes original and fan-favorite scripted and unscripted series, talk show series, original animation content, timeless movies, sports content, news and lifestyle programs, and more.

What makes the service unique in comparison to many of its streaming competitors is that it will be free (ad-supported) to viewers who already subscribe to cable television, but for those who have “cut the cord,” there will be a subscription option made available, estimated to be approx. $10 per month.

Aside from timeless sitcoms like Parks & Rec and The Office, what original content will be made available on Peacock? Let’s have a look!
