We finally got to meet The Dark King and saw Fen and Margo battle it out in the arena. There was also some bittersweet closure on the Q matter. Now it’s time to look ahead at The Magicians Season 5, Episode 4.
Let’s be honest, not everyone is going to be happy with the closure in the last episode of the series. While Eliot finally got to tell Alice about the decades at the mosaic and Alice admits that Q loved Eliot too, it’s just too little too late. However, life has to go on, and there’s another apocalypse around the corner for the Magicians left standing.

During Episode 4, we’re going to see the first steps in this coming apocalypse. Julia needs to get some answers, and it means calling on a goddess. I’m guessing this is the “lady” that she is going to give a book to. Which book is it? Why does a goddess want a book?
Meanwhile, Margo continues in her attempts to save Fillory. It’s not going to be that easy, though. The Dark King is exceptionally charming (didn’t we all love Robin Hood in Once Upon a Time?) and Eliot has met him under some false pretenses to begin with. Even now that Eliot knows he’s The Dark King, it’s hard to argue with some of his logic.
I really hope we don’t see tensions between Margo and Eliot like we did a couple of seasons ago. I need these two to be on the same page but have enjoyed seeing Alice and Eliot find a status quo.
