Save My Skin is TLC’s UK counterpart to Dr. Pimple Popper, and there is no doubt it’s double the doctor for double the fun.

If you’re in love with Dr. Pimple Popper, you are in luck. There is a British counterpart named Dr. Emma Craythorne who treats just as many bizarre cases, and her excellent, new series is called Save My Skin. Dr. Craythorne’s Harley Street Clinic in London provides the setting for bizarre cases ranging from eczema, lipomas, keloids, and an assortment of other conditions of which Dr. Pimple Popper are fully aware.

4. Tracy’s birth

This is the best procedure of the episode. Dr. Emma really hams it up. She makes the incision and then uses it for a brief ventriloquism routine. Then she describes the squeeze like a child’s birth, mentioning how things get better after the shoulders get through. Hilarious.

3. Louise needs help

More from Reality TV

Yikes. Poor Louise looks like she’s been in a fire. It’s terribly sad. Nearly 100% of her face and neck have dry, scarred skin. The condition spread to her arms as well, and she’s grown weary of using the prescription steroid creams. The only problem is, her wounds are terribly itchy and she can’t stop scratching. Even when sleeping she picks and scratches, resulting in bloody, wet sheets.

Louise has done some reading online and thinks it’s comparable to a medical degree. On the contrary, Dr. Craythorne basically tells her she’s wrong about the “research,” and it shakes Louise to the core.

Guess what? Six months later she’s back, and her face looks way worse than it did before. After the third visit she followed the doctor’s advice and looks much better.

2. Andy’s dating issues

Andy’s head is littered with keloids due to his ingrown hairs. His friends bust his chops about them, and Andy knows they restrict his ability with the ladies. Dr. Craythorne says cute things like “wee baby” and “big brother,” but the combination of the keloids looks like a connect the dots constellation.

The procedure is quick and disgusting. She starts shaving them off at the base using a laser and a suction tool to mask the smell of burning hair/skin. There is no such thing as a smell-o-vision, yet I can smell it.

Ultimately a swollen tick is removed from one side of his head, a cockroach/date is removed elsewhere. I could swear I saw the nurse dry heave.

1. Scotty doesn’t know

There are a ton of bumps on Scott’s back, and two important details need to be relayed. One, his wife makes sure he has extra shirts for work. Two, his wife still says she gags because of the smell. The initial diagnosis is a mixture of cysts and rampant acne. Exacerbating the issue is Scott’s 20 cigarette a day habit. One wonders how he gets any work done.

The procedure takes forever, as she pokes and prods everywhere. One peculiar technique is poking a hole to expedite the squeeze. Some cottage cheese comes out and some egg yolk protrudes far enough to snatch.

Contrary to Dr. Pimple Popper, she squeezes out the various juices and then appears to singe portions of the sac before removing it. Interesting, but I don’t want deviled eggs for the next six months or so.
