After a devastating loss to current WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at the WWE Super ShowDown PPV event, what are WWE’s plans for Ricochet?

With WrestleMania 36 less than a week away and Ricochet currently nowhere to be found on the card, it wouldn’t be hard for some fans to believe that WWE isn’t looking to give the master of the 630 the major push most believe he deserves.

While that is a possibility, it’s certainly not a good idea to assume that at the moment given the COVID-19 pandemic. Not to mention the fact that there’ve been a number of cases where a wrestler that isn’t doing so hot at one point bounces back three months later.

With that being said, let’s get to the reason you’re probably reading this post. What are WWE’s plans for Ricochet in the near future? Read on to find out!

A heel turn

It’s no secret that Ricochet is one of WWE’s biggest fan favorites, so turning him heel may not be in the companies best interest. On the other hand, the sheer shock and rage from fans after watching someone so beloved and admired turn their back on them might be a smart way for Ricochet to elicit heel heat from the WWE Universe.

An NXT return

Ricochet has had some of his best matches on the NXT brand. Some would even go as far as saying that his days in NXT were when he was at his best. From the historic Ladder match to determine the first-ever NXT North American titleholder to his epic classic with Johnny Gargano at NXT TakeOver: Pheonix for the aforementioned North American title, Ricochet’s run on NXT was definitely a huge high point for his career.

A demotion?

After failing to defeat the beast incarnate at Super ShowDown, there is a possibility that Ricochet’s future might not be as bright as his past. The following week after Super ShowDown, he battled former WWE 24/7 Champion Riddick Moss in a losing effort for the title. He, however, did pick up a victory over Eric Young on Main Event thereafter.

It should be noted that his most recent appearance on WWE programming saw take another loss in a tag team match against Andrade and Angel Garza. While any superstar can bounce back and there have been numerous occasions of this happening, there’s also the possibility that Ricochet could wind up getting pushed down on the totem pole for good.

With the coronavirus pandemic taking its toll, it’s hard to tell what the plans for much of anything are for the time being.
