Season 1’s “The Trial” had tons of guest stars but four stood out the most

No list about incredible guest stars on What We Do In The Shadows would be complete with the Season 1 episode, “The Trial.” The episode follows the three “normal vampires: Nandor, Lazlo, and Najda as they’re on trial for the crime of killing the Baron. While we know they’re innocent, it’s a fun episode and has an enormous amount of guests stars in one particular scene.

Coming in at number four on the list has to be Tilda Swinton. You might be wondering how she comes to play in the vampire world. She is known as the Leader of the Vampiric Council so she’s basically in charge of all the vampires in the world. As you can see in the clip above, she takes the role very seriously and is one of the best parts of the episode. The way she embodies her role is just excellent.

As for number three, this answer might be cheating but it’s Taika Waititi, Jonathan Brugh, and Jemaine Clement. The three reprised their roles from the film the series is based on. Seeing them be apart of the Vampiric Council is a nice little easter egg for those who watched the movie. Even if you didn’t watch the movie, they’re all pretty recognizable so no doubt fans would be able to pick them out of the group.

While they might not count as a group, there was no way only one was making the cut. The entire series wouldn’t exist wouldn’t them so they needed to be on here. They weren’t higher as they only appeared in one episode together. In the Season 2 finale, only Jemaine Clement returned and it was delightful. Nevertheless, this list wouldn’t be complete without giving a nod to the original stars.
