We’re heading back to Purgatory, Earpers! Wynonna Earp Season 4 premieres tonight, and you’re not going to want to miss a beat.

We weren’t worried when we found out about the financing problems. With SYFY and Space behind the show (because it is just so darn good), there was going to be financing from somewhere; we just had to be patient. And that patience has paid off.

This season is sort of going to be shorter. When watched in full in the next few years, you won’t notice a difference, but the season is cut in half, so we’ll get the second half of the season sometime after the pandemic. Filming was postponed partway through, but the geniuses behind the show figured out a way to bring us some episodes.

And we’re eternally grateful.

Melanie Scrofano returns as Wynonna in the Wynonna Earp Season 4 premiere. The family curse has been lifted and Wynonna no longer has Peacemaker by her side. That was her identity for so long. How is it going to affect her moving forward? That’s certainly going to be interesting to see moving forward, and there are some moments that touch on it in the premiere.

It’s time to see who Wynonna is as Wynonna, something she hasn’t had to think about since the death of her elder sister.

And then we have Waverly, who has been pulled into an alternate dimension. Doc Halliday decided to follow to keep the angel safe, which means Wynonna doesn’t even have her sister or baby daddy by her side. She needs to rescue everyone while also protecting Purgatory from a new enemy.

Easy peasy, right?
