Coroner

The CW is the place to turn this week. There’s a new TV crime drama coming. This one is a Canadian acquisition. We’ve already seen some great Canadian dramas, like Burden of Truth and Murdoch Mysteries, so there are plenty of reasons to give Coroner a chance.

The series focuses on Jenny, a recent widow who is a medical examiner. She talks to the dead, connecting with them in an attempt to solve their mysteries. They may not all be murder, but that doesn’t mean these people don’t deserve closure.

At the same time, Jenny needs to deal with her own grief, while helping her son deal with his. It’s an excellent drama on a human level.

The Coroner series premiere airs on Aug. 5 at 9/8c on The CW.

SYFY Wire’s The Great Debate

SYFY Wire’s The Great Debate is a fun show. Celebrities get together to discuss the world’s greatest problems and questions. We’ve seen the cast debate things like the greatest movies, time travel, and even Dungeons and Dragons.

Episode 8 is a chance for the cast to debate superheroes and villains. Who will the cast members choose? Who would you choose?

Tune in on Thursday, Aug. 6 from 11/10c on SYFY.
