Could Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth be stepping away from Counting On?

When Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth and her husband Austin weren’t featured in the Counting On Season 11 promotional material, fans quickly wondered if this meant the couple were leaving the show. They’ve been featured a little in the recent season, but will this be the last?

It’s hard to say. Nobody has officially stated that the two are leaving the show, unless you count Joy-Anna’s brother-in-law Derick Dillard. When he said that he and Jill Duggar still wanted to be part of family life, a fan asked why they would be allowed when they “quit” filming. According to In Touch Weekly, Derick shared that they may have quit filming but they hadn’t quit family life.

Of course, there are other issues around Derick and Jill’s departure from the show, with some saying that they were fired after Derick’s transphobic comments on social media. That one is still up for debate, but if they’re not allowed to film, then they can’t be part of family events that involve the cameras. It’s as simple as that.

So, what about Joy-Anna and Austin? Derick says that they’ve quit the show, but they’re still involved in family life. We have to point out that Austin and Joy-Anna have never said anything negative about TLC and Jim-Bob, which could have a part in that.

Are the Forsyths moving on?

The couple is still involved in Counting On. During some recent episodes, they talked about the miscarriage of Annabell Elise, giving her a headstone and plant, and how Joy feels now her sisters-in-law are pregnant when she would have been giving birth at around the same time as them.

It’s possible that the two have decided to step away once the cameras stopped filming for the current season. During Counting On Season 12, we’ll probably find that they’re no longer on the couch and focused on as much. Instead, they may just be spotted in the background as they still get involved in family life but quit being the main focuses.

Since March 2020, they’ve built up a social media presence. This could have been due to the coronavirus pandemic, which led to uncertainty for many people. It could also be a plan after telling TLC they wanted to step back from the show.

They have also got involved in house flipping, which will take up a lot of time. They want to go their own way as a couple, and that’s understandable!

Right now, the Forsyths will be focused on the arrival of their new baby sometime this month. We know Joy-Anna is planning a hospital birth, likely due to the complications faced in her first labor, and she’s disappointed that it means her mom and sisters can’t be there for her. But the baby’s health and hers have to come first.
