2. Kaitlyn Bristowe & Artem

Kaitlyn Bristowe and her partner Artem would also find themselves moving up one position on the leaderboard this week following their performance of the Foxtrot to Leann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance.”

In her intro package, Kaitlyn spoke with Artem about her lifelong dream of being a dancer.

Following in the footsteps of her mother, who was a professional ballerina, Kaitlyn would begin dancing at the age of three until she was 18. After high school, she would attend auditions with the hopes of becoming a professional dancer, however, after hundreds of rejections, she decided to walk away from that dream.

In a sick twist of fate, an injury sustained after last week’s performance threatened to rip that dream away from her once again. Luckily, she would get cleared to perform moments before she took the stage and, despite her injury, would get high praise from the judges.

Carrie Ann Inaba would call the performance elegant while Derek Hough would praise her for “reclaiming the dancer from within.” Finally, Bruno Tonioli would say that the dance possessed a “classical ballet quality.”

Kaitlyn and Artem would end up receiving sevens from Carrie Ann and Bruno while receiving an eight from Derek, making their total for the week 22 out of 30, with a combined total, for both weeks of 42 out of 60.
