Bob’s Burgers: Battle of the Belchers Thanksgiving edition
Let’s discuss what happened in the Season 10 Thanksgiving episode and its impact.
No surprise we’d start off with discussing what happened in Season 10’s “Now We’re Not Cooking with Gas.” Similar to previous years, the Belchers are trying to have a nice Thanksgiving until something goes wrong. This year, Bob is thrilled to be able to cook a heritage turkey as he’s been waiting for years. It’s all going great until Bob discovers a gas leak so it can’t be cooked in the oven.
Things snowball from that point including the fire department getting called and rain ruining any chance of a fire. The episode only gets worse when Bob trips and burns the turkey to the crisp before realizing it was actually fully cooked. In the end, the family is able to celebrate Thanksgiving together and enjoy the turkey so there was a silver lining which is always something to be thankful for.
As for the impact of this episode, it’s surprisingly pretty impactful as it gives Bob a reality check and shows him the true meaning of Thanksgiving. It isn’t about the food but rather about being thankful for the family he has. It’s a lesson Bob learns in the end but it doesn’t negate his behavior for the rest of the episode. If anything, it proves how much Bob is willing to do to have a nice Thanksgiving.
Overall, “Now We’re Not Cooking With Gas” is a solid Thanksgiving episode. While Bob acts a bit out-of-character, it’s an episode we’ll want to return to. If anything, it shows us how thankful we should be that we’re not the Belchers. As bad that might sound, it’s true. However, Season 10 is just one piece of the puzzle so let’s get into this year’s episode.
